Surface studies of the enhanced adsorption of sodium ions onto oxidized surfaces in acetone‐containing aqueous solutions
Tiejun Wang,Peter M. A. Sherwood +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption behavior of sodium ions onto oxidized surfaces was studied with x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) with and without the presence of a high concentration of acetone.
An X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopic Study of the Free Surface Segregation of Impurities in Platinum and Palladium
TL;DR: In this article, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to observe the free surface segregation of impurities in samples of platinum and palladium, and the core level binding energies of the silver and gold segregants were lower than those measured for the corresponding pure metal states.
John Grant and the multifaceted nature of true professionalism: Personal perspective
Donald R. Baer,Kateryna Artyushkova,Julia E. Fulghum,Cedric J. Powell,Peter M. A. Sherwood,David J. Surman,John F. Watts +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider the elements that contribute to professional and scientific impact and propose a volume honoring John Grant, who has contributed in many ways to both advancing the methodology and the practical application of surface-analytical tools to understand surfaces and interfaces of technological importance.
