A numerical study of oscillating flow around a circular cylinder
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented results obtained from a numerical solution to a stream function-vorticity formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations for the flow around a circular cylinder in planar oscillating flow at small Keulegan-Carpenter numbers in the subcritical Reynolds number (Re) range.

Modelling of undertow by a one-equation turbulence model
TL;DR: In this paper, a model for the circulation current in the vertical plane in the surf zone, the so-called undertow, is formulated, which describes the time-averaged shear stresses caused by the wave breaking, which drives the current, and the resulting velocity distribution.

Prediction of turbulent oscillatory flow over rough beds
TL;DR: A theory for the turbulent oscillatory boundary layer flow over a rough bed based on a two-equation turbulence model is presented in this article, where the resulting system of three coupled partial differential equations is solved by a finite difference method.

An explicit scheme for advection-diffusion modelling in two dimensions
Lars Ekebjærg,Peter Justesen +1 more
TL;DR: An extension of the finite difference scheme QUICKEST for the advection-diffusion equation from one dimension into two dimensions is given in this paper, where both diffusion and acceleration are formulated as transports.

A note on turbulence calculations in the wave boundary layer
TL;DR: In this article, the distribution of turbulence in the wave boundary layer is investigated using standard one-and two-equation models, and it is shown that the distribution is similar to the one in this paper.
