Complete Genes May Pass from Food to Human Blood
Sándor Spisák,Norbert Solymosi,Norbert Solymosi,Péter Ittzés,András Bodor,Dániel Kondor,Gábor Vattay,Barbara Kinga Barták,Ferenc Sipos,Orsolya Galamb,Zsolt Tulassay,Zoltan Szallasi,Simon Rasmussen,Thomas Sicheritz-Pontén,Søren Brunak,Béla Molnár,István Csabai,István Csabai +17 more
TL;DR: Evidence is reported that meal-derived DNA fragments which are large enough to carry complete genes can avoid degradation and through an unknown mechanism enter the human circulation system.
Bridging the gap between climate models and impact studies: the FORESEE Database.
Laura Dobor,Zoltán Barcza,Zoltán Barcza,Tomáš Hlásny,Tomáš Hlásny,Ágnes Havasi,Ferenc Horváth,Péter Ittzés,Judit Bartholy +8 more
- 01 Jul 2015
TL;DR: The climatological database called FORESEE (Open Database for Climate Change Related Impact Studies in Central Europe), which was developed to support the research of and adaptation to climate change in Central and Eastern Europe, can serve as a blueprint for similar initiatives.

Vos,Rutger A. Vos,Alan Williams,Pelin Yilmaz +55 more
TL;DR: This work shows an operational, scalable and flexible Internet-based virtual laboratory to meet new demands for data processing and analysis in biodiversity science and ecology, and successfully integrated existing and popular tools and practices from different scientific disciplines.
Local richness-species pool ratio: A consequence of the species-area relationship
Sándor Bartha,Péter Ittzés +1 more
TL;DR: The concept of quasi-neutrality is restricted to subordinated functional groups based on the following hypotheses: neutrality will appear within subordinated guilds as a consequence of the hierarchical structure of plant communities and the lower a guild in the hierarchy the higher neutrality of within-layer processes detected.

BOOL-AN: a method for comparative sequence analysis and phylogenetic reconstruction.
TL;DR: A novel discrete mathematical approach is proposed as an additional tool for molecular systematics which does not require prior statistical assumptions concerning the evolutionary process and is called the Boolean analysis or BOOL-AN.
