Art and Residence Among the Shipibo Indians of Peru: A Study in Microacculturation
TL;DR: In this paper, the Deetz-Longacre hypothesis was applied to the Shipibo art of Peruvian montana, showing that additional variables associated with female stylistic uniformity with matrilineal descent and matrilocal residence, such as the number of elements and rules used, contribute to aesthetic micro-acculturation.
