The chemistry and mineralogy of coal and coal combustion products
Jody K. Tishmack,Perre E. Burns +1 more
TL;DR: A broad overview of the chemistry and mineralogy of coal, and the combustion products that are formed when coal is burned, can be found in this article, with a focus on coal ash.

Selenium(IV) and (VI) Sorption by Soils Surrounding Fly Ash Management Facilities
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the sorption of Se(IV) and Se(VI) from 1 mM CaSO{sub 4} for 18 soils obtained downgradient from three coal ash landfill sites and evaluated with respect to several soil properties.

Characterizing As(III,V) adsorption by soils surrounding ash disposal facilities
TL;DR: Attenuation of arsenic from ash leachate agreed well with adsorption measured from 1mM CaSO4 suggesting that the use of1mMCaSO4 in laboratory adsorptive tests is a reasonable approach for estimating arsenic behavior in soils surrounding ash landfills.

Methods of silica removal from pyrometallurgical processing wastes of ilmenite concentrate
A. Ultarakova,Z.B. Karshyga,N. G. Lokhova,M. A. Naimanbaev,A. Yessengaziyev,Perre E. Burns +5 more
TL;DR: In this article , a study on the processing of waste dust from electrical smelting of ilmenite concentrates with the removal of silica from them by alkaline and fluoride methods is presented.
