TL;DR: Rifaximin is an oral nonsystemic antibiotic with minimal gastrointestinal absorption and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity covering both gram-positive and gram-negative organisms as discussed by the authors, which is currently used worldwide in patients with cirrhosis for preventing recurrent HE because its efficacy and safety have been proven by large randomized clinical trials.

Novel Biomarkers of AKI in Cirrhosis
TL;DR: Urine biomarkers, particularly NGAL (neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin), may be useful in daily clinical practice for the differential diagnosis of the cause of AKI in cirrhosis and may constitute a useful tool for use in differential diagnosis, prognosis of renal function and survival in patients with Cirrhosis.
