Fad and Elovl expressions, fatty acid compositions, and feed effects of three representative microalgae in Sinonovacula constricta (Lamarck 1818) at early developmental stages
Zhaoshou Ran,Fei Kong,Jilin Xu,Kai Liao,Xiaorong Xu,Peng Shi,Ke Chen,Chengxu Zhou,Xiaojun Yan +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a marine mollusc demonstrated to possess all fatty acyl desaturase (Fad) and elongase of very long chain fatty acid (Elovl) activities required for long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) biosynthesis via the Sprecher pathway.

Involvement of a novel Ca2+-independent C-type lectin from Sinonovacula constricta in food recognition and innate immunity.
Xiaorong Xu,Kai Liao,Peng Shi,Jilin Xu,Zhaoshou Ran,Chengxu Zhou,Lin Zhang,Jiayi Cao,Xiaojun Yan +8 more
TL;DR: Results indicated that the recombinant ScCL protein was involved in food particle recognition and immunity of S. constricta.

Triflumizole Induces Developmental Toxicity, Liver Damage, Oxidative Stress, Heat Shock Response, Inflammation, and Lipid Synthesis in Zebrafish
TL;DR: In this paper , the adverse effects of triflumizole toxicity in zebrafish were investigated and it was shown that, after TFZ exposure, the lethal concentration 50 (LC50) in 3 d post-fertilization (dpf) embryos and 6 dpf larvae were 4.872 and 2.580 mg/L, respectively.
A Novel C-Type Lectin and Its Potential Role in Feeding Selection in Ruditapes philippinarum
TL;DR: In this article , a new C-type lectin (Rpcl) from the manila clam was obtained and its potential role in feed selection was studied and the qPCR analysis indicated that Rpcl expression was observed in all examined tissues and was the highest in gills, followed by in the hepatopancreas, and to a lesser extent in the mantle and lip.

Molecular Characterization and Expression Response of Ghrelin, GLP-1 and PYY to Fasting, Dietary Lipid, and Fatty Acids in Silver Pomfret (Pampus argenteus)
TL;DR: Ghrelin, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), and peptide YY (PYY) are potent hormones mediating food intake according to the nutritional status in fish as mentioned in this paper .
