Visible-light-driven photocatalyst of Bi2WO6 nanoparticles prepared via amorphous complex precursor and photocatalytic properties

Synthesis, characterization, and photocatalytic properties of InVO4 nanoparticles

Nanocomposite structures involving LaNiO3 perovskite partially substituted with iron and segregated NiO are synthesized by sol–gel method using citric acid as chelating agent. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques are used to explore precursor decomposition and to establish adequate calcination temperature for the preparation of the nanocomposites. The samples obtained after calcination at 750 °C were characterized by XRD, X-ray photoelectronic spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and powder size distribution, and tested for the catalytic oxidation reaction of CO. Optimum catalytic properties are shown to be achieved for nanocomposites with relatively weak Fe/Ni substitution degree in the perovskite interacting with well-dispersed small NiO entities.

Synthesis, characterization and catalytic properties of La(Ni,Fe)O 3 –NiO nanocomposites

Formation and performances of porous InVO4 films

La-Ni precursor prepared by EDTA-cellulose method was calcined under different atmosphere (Air or Ar), and the catalysts were characterized by various techniques. In this study, the possibility of reduction free catalyst for dry reforming of methane was investigated as well. It was observed that LaNiO3 perovskite structure was formed under the calcination of Air atmosphere, while Ni0/La2O3-C structure was obtained under the calcination of Ar atmosphere due to the reducing and the oxidizing agents generated by the decomposition of organic species under inert atmosphere. It was found that even if LaNiO3-Ar had much larger size of nickel particle than LaNiO3-Air, the remained carbon species derived positive effect: the interfacial area among carbon, La2O3 and Ni0 could lead to synergetic sites such as basic sites, which enhanced resistance to carbon deposition. Furthermore, the higher CH4 activation energy and basicity of LaNiO3-Ar catalyst might ascribe to equilibrium between CH4 decomposition and CO2 gasification rates. Thus, it is suggested that remained carbon species in Ar calcined catalyst did not negatively affect the catalytic activity, but it affected stability positively.

Nanosized lanthanum nickel oxide powder LaNiO3 with perovskite structure was successfully synthesized at a relatively low calcination temperature by using an amorphous heteronuclear complex LaNi(DTPA) · 6H2O as a precursor The precursor decomposed completely into nickel oxide above 600°C based on the DTA and TGA results XRD demonstrated that nanosized LaNiO3 crystalline powder with pure perovskite structure was obtained after the calcination temperature increased to 700°C The effects of calcination time and temperature were also examined by XRD and TEM The results indicated the grain size and the crystal size of LaNiO3 increased with the calcination temperature from 600°C to 900°C, and were less influenced by the heat-treatment time The electrical resistivity of the powder decreased when the calcination temperature increased It can be concluded that it is a useful way to synthesize nanosized perovskite oxides using an amorphous complex as a precursor, and this method can be easily quantitatively controlled
