Single-atom dispersed Cu or Co on 2H-MoS2 monolayer for improving electrocatalytic activity of overall water splitting
Tianhao Zhu,Xiaorong Gan,Zihao Xiao,Shuo Dai,Haoran Xiao,Sijiu Zhang,Shicheng Dong,Huimin Zhao,Peifang Wang +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the possibility of using single-atom dispersed Cu or Co on 2H-MoS2 monolayer to activate the inert basal planes and realize overall water splitting reaction and showed that the incorporation of single atoms can activate inert inplane S-atoms, and lead to the improved electrochemical activity for both hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions (HER and OER).

Improving electrocatalytic activity of 2H-MoS2 nanosheets obtained by liquid phase exfoliation: Covalent surface modification versus interlayer interaction
TL;DR: In this article, 2D 2H-MoS2 nanosheets were exfoliated in three typical solvents, including N, N-dimethyl formamide (DMF), formamide, and 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), and the effect of surface and interface functionalization was investigated by density functional theory periodic calculations based on the analysis of electronic energy band structures.
