Electrical device monitoring is an essential work for improving the efficiency of electrical energy. The industrial device monitoring process are majorly contributed with physical verification of the process going on with the electrical instrument. In some cases the monitoring work is handled with help of automated sensor controllers. The automated sensor controllers are widely used for emergency cases of the ongoing process by the electrical instruments. The system status will be displayed on a screen when the system is fully controlled by an intelligent controller. From the status certain process and equipment are able to manage by physical switches by a human operator. The proposed work is designed to control certain applications which are remotely placed from the control station. The design utilizes internet medium and Blynk server for the specific operations. A sensor based monitoring station is kept near to the electrical device for sending the status of the application system. By using this design any system can be monitored remotely without physical verification. This improves the efficiency of energy utilization by the control devices.

A Sensor based IoT Monitoring System for Electrical Devices using Blynk framework

This manuscript proposes a hybrid approach depending on the internet of things (IoT) for grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV)-fed dc residential buildings. The hybrid approach combines the Honey Badger Algorithm (HBA) with density clustering and graph neural network (DCGNN), commonly referred to as the HBA-DCGNN method. The primary objective of the proposed method is to reduce customers' electricity costs while maintaining the desired level of comfort, such as interior temperature and appliance operation characteristics. The HBA algorithm optimizes power flow between the solar photovoltaic system, battery storage, and grid, while the DCGNN approach predicts solar PV power generation and energy demand in residential buildings. The proposed approach is done in MATLAB and is compared with the existing techniques, including the Random Forest Algorithm (RFA), Seagull Optimization Algorithm (SOA), and Wild Horse Optimizer (WHO). The outcome demonstrate that the proposed method lessens the costs of electricity by 1.12$ than the existing methods.

In this work, the system of a boost converter coupled with a solar cell as a power source is studied. The study is approached from the local stability analysis of the three differential equations that model the system. Then the energy shaping control based on passivity is applied to determine the global stability of the system. Using this control, the mathematical model is studied and the simulation results are compared with those obtained experimentally.

The linear increase in the growth of the population demands a requisite for energy resources. Knowing the loathsome truth that non-renewable sources will ultimately exhaust, the significance of renewable sources cannot be undervalued. Considering various factors, many work areas are reliant upon fossil fuels for the generation of electricity. The use of fossil fuels will increase the quality of power production but will drain one day, and industries must change to renewable sources. The earliest system that strikes a chord with regard to renewable energy is the photovoltaic (PV) energy system. In this specific circumstance, interest in solar systems is expanding step by step, and its installations are becoming broad. The implementation of the solar water pumping method used for irrigation purposes using a Zeta converter was best suited for small and minor farmers, but still, the efficiency of the system can be upgraded with the use of filters. The vantage of the ZETA converter has less result voltage ripple and smooth water pumping application. The PV-based system has reached the point where it is used in Electric vehicles by enhancing the standard operating condition of the converter under the steady and dynamic behavior of a PV system. Eventually, it can be worked considerably under minimum solar irradiance. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the signal had dominant performance in a zeta converter circuit while sign levels ripple current, and voltage on the output side was compact.

Design and Implementation of Modified Zeta Converter for Solar Water Pumping Application

This paper presents a design and prototype implementation of a renewable energy-powered home with a basic home automation system using Internet Of things (IoT). The proposed system consists of two main parts; The first part consists of renewable energy (solar) power system where the power supplied to the house is produced from solar panel(s), which will be supplied to an inverter through a MPPT-based solar charge controller. A battery has been used in the system as a backup power supply which will be charged with the help of the charge controller. The excess power generated (when no home appliances are used and the battery is fully charged) will be supplied to the power grid or will be used to run an external AC motors such as water pumps. The second part consists of home automation using Internet Of things (IOT) using a Wi-Fi interface and an android application BLYNK. With the help of the mentioned android application BLYNK, the user will be able to know the current status of the lights and other electrical appliances of their house, whether the lights and other electrical appliances are turned on/off, and can remotely turn on/off the appliances and lights. The home automation in this prototype is focussed on the parts only where most of the energy could be wasted when we forget to turn off the lights, fan and power plugs while leaving the house and could be turned on/off remotely through an android app. The two subparts of the design will be finally combined to make a renewable energy-based smart home. Unlike the costly and sophisticated home automation systems available in the market, this design is cheap and simple, and can be easily implemented in our home.

Design and Prototype Implementation of a Renewable Energy-Powered Home with Home Automation System Using Internet of Things (IoT)

ABSTRACT The most admired alternative to conventional energy sources is solar energy. In north-eastern regions of India, where availability of sun is unpredictable but irradiance level is high, special observation is needed to upgrade the solar collection systems. The main objective of the research work is to develop a renewable system, which can extract maximum voltage using dual axis movable surface and design a cascaded converter, which can further increase the voltage while maintaining high efficiency. The output of the smart independent self-regulating solar panel hardware model proposed in this paper is fed into a DC–DC cascaded Boost-SEPIC system for renewable-based applications. The newly created renewable system is built to move the panel so that the most voltage is extracted. The DC–DC cascaded converter receives power from the solar panel’s output. To assess the system’s effectiveness and voltage gain, a thorough circuit analysis is carried out. The converter is tested using various duty cycles. With a 50% duty ratio and 90% efficiency, the suggested converter produces a 40 V DC output from a 20 V DC input voltage from a solar panel. Results from an experimental prototype are used to verify the converter’s viability.
