Computational strategies for masonry structures : multi-scale modeling, dynamics, engineering applications and other challenges
Paulo B. Lourenço
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this article, the authors address different challenges: micro-modeling and homogenization techniques, which represent both a popular and active field on masonry research; dynamics and earthquake engineering, which remain far from being understood and challenge our modelling capacities.

Discussion of the role of geometry, proportion and construction techniques in the seismic behavior of 16th to 18th century bulbous discontinuous double shell domes in central Iran
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed numerical study based on finite element modeling and nonlinear static (pushover) analysis was conducted to evaluate the influence of geometry and construction techniques on the seismic behavior of Discontinuous Double Shell Domes (DDDs).

Quasi-static tests on a two-story CLT building
TL;DR: In this article, a two-story full-scale CLT platform-type building was tested under quasi-static monotonic and cyclic loading and the main objectives were to evaluate the global response of the structure, the performance of the shear walls, the behaviour of the connectors (hold-downs and angle brackets) and the frequency response of a structure during the tests.
