Sculpture apparatus for correcting curvature of the cornea
William B. Telfair,Paul R. Yoder,Clifford A. Martin,Francis A. L'Esperance +3 more
- 20 Nov 1987
TL;DR: In this paper, the laser beam is subjected to certain shaping and homogenizing operations prior to any attempt to specially characterize the beam for a particular sculpturing procedure, in order to obtain a tolerably homogeneous beam of enlarged dimension, so that specialty-characterizing may proceed on a dimensional scale that is greater than the corresponding dimension of ultimate surgical delivery.

Method and apparatus for removing corneal tissue with infrared laser radiation
William B. Telfair,Paul R. Yoder,Hanna J. Hoffman +2 more
- 27 Oct 1995
TL;DR: In this paper, a surgical technique for removing corneal tissue with scanned infrared radiation is disclosed which utilizes short mid-infrared laser pulses to provide a tissue removal mechanism based on photospallation.

Excimer laser instrumentation and technique for human corneal surgery.
TL;DR: The use of this excimer laser system has demonstrated that a nonuniform superficial lamellar keratectomy can be produced to excise areas of opacified, scarred, or abnormal cornea or to create a new anterior corneal curvature in attempts to correct refractive errors.

Eye restraining device
Peter S. Bennett,G. Hilary Harrold,Paul R. Yoder,Robert A. Delpero +3 more
- 01 Feb 1989
TL;DR: An eye restraining device includes a ring-shaped element (18) which contacts the sclera (14) of an eye (16) so that the cornea projects above the ringshaped element as mentioned in this paper.
