TL;DR: Sera originally collected from juvenile detention entrants for an HIV study in 1994-1996 were tested for hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibodies; it was found that the seroprevalence of HBV and HCV antibody was 2% and 1%, respectively.
