Combined action of cadmium and selenium on two marine dinoflagellates in culture, Prorocentrum micans Ehrbg. and Crypthecodinium cohnii Biecheler
TL;DR: The combined action of cadmium and selenium was investigated in two unicellular marine phytoplankton organisms, Prorocentrum micans Ehrbg.

Ultrastructural Damage by Cadmium in a Marine Dinoflagellate, Prorocentrum micans1
Marie‐Odile Soyer,Paul Prevot +1 more
TL;DR: Prorocentrum micans Ehrenberg, a free-living marine dinoflagellate, was used to test the intracellular toxic action of cadmium and exhibited vacuolations, increased numbers of lysosomes, and severe mitochondrial damage.

Esterases in marine dinoflagellates and resistance to the organophosphate insecticide parathion.
TL;DR: The results confirm the importance of esterases in toxicological studies of organophosphate insecticides, especially those of marine dinoflagellates, especially the ones used on Crypthecodinium cohnii and Prorocentrum micans.

Changes in ATP Concentration, Mitochondrial Structures, and Rhodamine 123 Binding in Two Marine Dinoflagellates Cultured in the Presence of Parathion
TL;DR: It is thought that parathion has different effects on mitochondria in the two organisms, and in particular that it increases mitochondrial activity in C. cohnii.
