Effects of Thyrotropin on Iodine Metabolism of Dog Thyroid Cells in Tissue Culture
TL;DR: The majority of the iodinated macromolecular product accumulated by follicular thyroid cells, by monolayer thyroid cells stimulated with thyrotropin for a prolonged period, or by thyroid cells treated with dibutyryl cAMP from the onset of culture has the characteristics of 19 S thyroglobulin.

Synthesis of basement membrane components by differentiated thyroid cells
TL;DR: The ability of differentiated porcine thyroid cells to synthesize basement membrane was suggested by their production of type IV collagen and heparan sulfate, two of its potential components.

Messenger RNA properties of primary cultures of thyroid cells isolated from normal thyroid tissue and from patients with various thyroid diseases.
Paul A. Wadeleux,Roger J. Winand +1 more
TL;DR: In the three thyroid diseases and particularly in toxic adenoma, it is observed an increase in the polyadenylic acid and messenger activity associated to RNA sedimenting at greater than 30 S, which correspond probably to thyroglobulin messenger RNA.

Effect of thyrotropin on the properties of messenger RNA from cultured human thyroid cells
Paul A. Wadeleux,Roger J. Winand +1 more
TL;DR: One way by which thyrotropin regulates the thyroid protein synthesis is suggested by the shift of poly(adenylic acid)-containing RNA to large polysomes when thyroid cells were cultured in the presence of the hormone.
