The present application is directed towards systems and methods for providing audience interaction with a broadcast media program. A producer, utilizing an intuitive interface provided by a computing device can request audience input by providing polls or questions, which may be transmitted to a plurality of remote computing devices of the audience. An audience member may record a brief audio or video file, of up to a predetermined length, in response to a question via an application executed by their remote computing device. The application may transmit the recorded file to the computing device of the producer, who may review the recorded file and delete it, post it to a website, or download it for playback on air. Accordingly, the resulting system provides the ease, efficiency, and safety of asynchronous communication systems, while allowing audience members to hear their own comments and own voices on air.

Enabling audience interaction with a broadcast media program

The present disclosure provides an audience response system with dynamic user interfaces and methods of using such an audience response system. The audience response system includes a wireless aggregation point and multiple remote handsets communicatively coupled to that wireless aggregation point. The remote handsets may be used (e.g., by students) to answer questions (e.g., posed by a teacher). At least some of the remote handsets may include user interfaces that include user input interface elements that are configurable via the wireless aggregation point. Additionally, the user interfaces of at least some of the remote handsets may provide feedback to the students regarding their interaction with the remote handsets.

Dynamic User Interface for Use in an Audience Response System

A system for conducting electronic surveys comprises a processing device coupled to a network. The processing device is configured to provide a graphical user interface (“GUI”) defining an electronic survey. The GUI defines a survey page comprising a first region including a plurality of different objects selectable by a user taking the survey. The GUI also defines a second region defining a first portion assigned a first relative rating on a rating scale and a second portion assigned a second relative rating, for selective placement of objects from the first region by the user. The GUI provides data related to the placement of each object into the first and second portions by the user, while continuing to display each selection on the same survey page. The processing device also derives explicit and non-explicit information related to the placement of respective objects. A method and GUI are also disclosed.

To administer the social choice survey, the social choice engine sends electronic notifications to selected participants. The participants respond to the social choice survey through a user interface that includes interactive features. The results of the social choice survey are then displayed to the survey administrator.
