The number of mobile robotic machines may be capable of moving to a number of locations in a maintenance area and may be capable of performing a number of maintenance operations on a structure in the maintenance area. The wireless communications system may be capable of providing communication with the number of mobile robotic machines within the maintenance area. The computer system may be capable of exchanging information with the number of mobile robotic machines using the wireless communications system.

Autonomous inspection and maintenance

A system that enables a fleet of vehicles to be maintained is provided. The disclosed system allows a fleet operator to review the history of the vehicles in the fleet along with vehicle sensor data to identify earmarks in the vehicle sensor data that are predictive of faults that the vehicles have experienced. The operator develops statistical algorithms that can detect an earmark in vehicle sensor data. The system then collects vehicle sensor data and applies the statistical algorithms the vehicle data to determine if a potential fault is going to occur in a vehicle. In response to determining that a potential fault is going to occur, the disclosed system automatically alerts the vehicle driver, automatically schedules a maintenance visit, automatically checks the fleet inventory for components required for a maintenance visit and orders unavailable components, and automatically dispatches the components to the mechanic.

A system, method and program product for maintaining fleet performance for a fleet of platforms, especially for a fleet of aircraft. Part removal data is contained in a maintenance database. A query is constructed for extracting part removal data from the maintenance database. Weibull analysis is applied to extracted part removal data. Exposed aircraft with parts being likely to fail within a given time period are identified from the Weibull analysis results. Overall part failure numbers are generated for each failing part. Inventory is checked to determine if sufficient spares are available to repair all expected failures. Any shortfalls may be covered. A risk report is generated for the fleet and for inventory. Each risk report highlights likely problems that may require immediate attention.
