In silico investigation of the mechanisms underlying atrial fibrillation due to impaired Pitx2
Jieyun Bai,Jieyun Bai,Andy Lo,Patrick Gladding,Martin K. Stiles,Vadim V. Fedorov,Jichao Zhao +6 more
TL;DR: The study demonstrates that shortened action potential duration, slow conduction and triggered activity occur due to electrical and structural remodelling under Pitx2 deficiency conditions and suggests that flecainide has antiarrhythmic effects on AF due to impaired Pitx1 by preventing spontaneous calcium release and increasing wavelength.
Percutaneous Closure of a Left Ventricular Free-Wall Rupture Site
TL;DR: An 86-year-old woman who lived independently was referred for consideration of percutaneous closure of a left ventricular free wall rupture site after she had an inferolateral myocardial infarction and an acute rupture of the left vent cardiac free wall.

Plasmonic gold and luminescent silicon nanoplatforms for multimode imaging of cancer cells.
Folarin Erogbogbo,Xin Liu,Jasmine L. May,Ashley Narain,Patrick Gladding,Mark T. Swihart,Paras N. Prasad +6 more
TL;DR: This work overcome challenges associated with combining plasmonic gold with luminescent silicon nanocrystals for biological imaging applications by incorporating multiple silicon quantum dots into the core of a micelle and then depositing gold on the surface of the nanostructure.
Comparison of two-dimensional strain analysis using vendor-independent and vendor-specific software in adult and pediatric patients:
Shafkat Anwar,Kazuaki Negishi,Allen Borowszki,Patrick Gladding,Zoran B. Popović,Francine Erenberg,James D. Thomas +6 more
- 06 Jun 2017
TL;DR: In this article, two-dimensional strain analysis is a powerful analysis modality, however, clinical utilization has been limited by variability between different analysis systems and operators, and the variability has been identified as a major limitation of two dimensional strain analysis.

Methods and compositions for the assessment of drug response
Patrick Gladding,Arzu Gunes,Marja-Liisa Dahl,Mark Webster +3 more
- 23 Jan 2009
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed methods for predicting or determining a subject's response to an antiplatelet agent, and methods for determining the subject's suitability to a treatment regime or intervention for a disease associated with platelet aggregation, using analysis of genetic polymorphisms.
