MitoQ regulates redox-related noncoding RNAs to preserve mitochondrial network integrity in pressure-overload heart failure.
Seulhee Kim,Jiajia Song,Patrick Ernst,Mary N. Latimer,Chae-Myeong Ha,Kah Yong Goh,Wenxia Ma,Namakkal-Soorappan Rajasekaran,Jianhua Zhang,Xiaoguang Liu,Sumanth D. Prabhu,Gangjian Qin,Adam R. Wende,Martin E. Young,Lufang Zhou +14 more
TL;DR: A unique mechanism by which MitoQ improves myocardial inter-organellar network in HF by maintaining Mfn2 expression via regulation by lncRNAs is supported, which underscores the role of lnc RNAs in the pathogenesis of HF, and the potential of targeting lncRNA as novel therapeutic strategy for HF treatment.

Ablation of lncRNA Miat attenuates pathological hypertrophy and heart failure.
Liu Yang,Liu Yang,Liu Yang,Jianxin Deng,Wenxia Ma,Aijun Qiao,Shiyue Xu,Yang Yu,Chan Boriboun,Xiang Kang,Dunzheng Han,Patrick Ernst,Lufang Zhou,Jiawei Shi,Eric Zhang,Tao Sheng Li,Hongyu Qiu,Shinichi Nakagawa,Seth Blackshaw,Jianyi Zhang,Gangjian Qin,Gangjian Qin +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the conserved long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) myocardial infarction associate transcript (Miat) was identified for its multiple single-nucleotide polymorphisms that are strongly associated with susceptibility to MI, but its role in cardiovascular biology remains elusive.

Y-27632 preconditioning enhances transplantation of human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes in myocardial infarction mice.
Meng Zhao,Meng Zhao,Chengming Fan,Chengming Fan,Patrick Ernst,Yawen Tang,Hanxi Zhu,Saidulu Mattapally,Yasin Oduk,Anton V. Borovjagin,Lufang Zhou,Jianyi Zhang,Wuqiang Zhu +12 more
TL;DR: Preconditioning with the ROCK inhibitor Y-27632 increased the engraftment of transplanted hiPSC-CM in a murine MI model, while reversibly impairing hiPSc-CM contractility and promoting adhesion.
Anti-SSTR2 antibody-drug conjugate for neuroendocrine tumor therapy.
Yingnan Si,Seulhee Kim,Jianfa Ou,Yun Lu,Patrick Ernst,Kai Chen,Jason Whitt,Angela M. Carter,James M. Markert,James A. Bibb,Herbert Chen,Lufang Zhou,Renata Jaskula-Sztul,Xiaoguang Margaret Liu +13 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the anti-SSTR2 ADC has a high-therapeutic potential for NET therapy and in vitro evaluations indicated that the ADC can effectively bind, internalize, release payload, and kill NET cells.

Process engineering of cellulosic n-butanol production from corn-based biomass using Clostridium cellulovorans
Jianfa Ou,Ningning Xu,Patrick Ernst,Chao Ma,Meredith Bush,KahYong Goh,Jingbo Zhao,Lufang Zhou,Shang-Tian Yang,Xiaoguang Liu +9 more
TL;DR: The fermentation process engineering of C. cellulovorans enabled a high butanol production directly from agricultural residues, showing that better cell growth and a higher concentration of n -butanol were produced from corn cob that was pretreated with sodium hydroxide in CBP.
