The death-associated protein DAXX is a novel histone chaperone involved in the replication-independent deposition of H3.3
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that DAXX functions as a bona fide histone chaperone involved in the replication-independent deposition of H3.3, establishing a new link between the PML bodies and the regulation of pericentric DNA repeat chromatin structure.
An autoinhibited state of 53BP1 revealed by small molecule antagonists and protein engineering
Gaofeng Cui,Maria Victoria Botuyan,Pascal Drané,Qi Hu,Benoît Bragantini,James R Thompson,David J. Schuller,Michael T. Perfetti,Lindsey I. James,Stephen V. Frye,Dipanjan Chowdhury,Georges Mer +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , a conformational equilibrium between an open and a pre-existing populated closed state of 53BP1 was demonstrated, where the H4K20me2 binding surface was buried at the interface between two interacting 53BP 1 molecules.
