Sensors play a crucial role in factory automation in making the system intellectual. Different types of sensors are available as per the suitability and applications; some of them are produced in mass and available in the market at affordable costs. The standard sensor types available are position sensors, pressure sensors, flow sensors, temperature sensors, and force sensors. They are used in many sectors, such as motorsport, medical, industry, aerospace, agriculture, and daily life. The objective of Industry 4.0 is to increase efficiency through automation. Sensors are vital components of Industry 4.0, allowing several transitions such as changes in positions, length, height, external and dislocations in industrial production facilities to be detected, measured, analysed, and processed. Smart factories will also enhance sustainability by tracking real-time output, and automated control systems will minimise potential factory maintenance costs. It can also be seen that digitalisation can improve production mobility, which gives advanced manufacturing firms a competitive advantage. This paper discusses sensors and their various types, along with significant capabilities for manufacturing. The step-by-step working Blocks and Quality Services of Sensors during implementation in Industry 4.0 are elaborated diagrammatically. Finally, we identified thirteen significant applications of sensors for Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 provides an excellent opportunity for the development of the sensor market across the globe. In Industry 4.0, sensors will enjoy higher acceptance rates and benefit from a fully enabled connecting and data exchange and logistics integration. In the coming years, sensor installations may grow in process management, automated production lines, and digital supply chains.

Significance of sensors for industry 4.0: Roles, capabilities, and applications

In recent years, the applications and accessibility of Virtual Reality (VR) for the healthcare sector have continued to grow. However, so far, most VR applications are only relevant in research settings. Information about what healthcare professionals would need to independently integrate VR applications into their daily working routines is missing. The actual needs and concerns of the people who work in the healthcare sector are often disregarded in the development of VR applications, even though they are the ones who are supposed to use them in practice. By means of this study, we systematically involve health professionals in the development process of VR applications. In particular, we conducted an online survey with 102 healthcare professionals based on a video prototype which demonstrates a software platform that allows them to create and utilise VR experiences on their own. For this study, we adapted and extended the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The survey focused on the perceived usefulness and the ease of use of such a platform, as well as the attitude and ethical concerns the users might have. The results show a generally positive attitude toward such a software platform. The users can imagine various use cases in different health domains. However, the perceived usefulness is tied to the actual ease of use of the platform and sufficient support for learning and working with the platform. In the discussion, we explain how these results can be generalized to facilitate the integration of VR in healthcare practice.

Opportunities and Challenges of Virtual Reality in Healthcare – A Domain Experts Inquiry

User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) are aspects that cannot be separated from video game development. In this study, we have improved the UI and UX of the Bomberman game and compared it to the UI and UX of the original Bomberman game. In evaluating the UI and UX results, we use the Game Experience Questionnaire Method (GEQ). There are six aspects used in the GEQ method, i.e., aspects of the challenge, competition, immersion, playfulness, social experiment, and enjoyment. We use 65 respondents to rate the UI and UX of the original Bomberman game. The questionnaire's results were taken into consideration in improving the UI and UX of the game to be developed. GEQ also provided to get the result of the improvement game. Likert scale calculation concluded that the 62 respondents rated the success of the Bomberman game development with UI and UX that has been improved. The 62 respondents indicated that the UI and UX of games provide more fun and enjoyable than the original Bomberman game.

The Effect of UI and UX Enhancement on Bomberman Game Based on Game Experience Questionnaire (GEQ)

Game level design is one of the most important element of developing an enjoyable video game. Besides, game with difficult and dynamic level can make players more exciting. This paper presents a new method of generating a video game level using a genetic algorithm. The proposed method is called gene pool integrates learning. This method implemented in feature selection so that this method is general enough to be used for multiple different types of games. This paper uses some training data to scan good patterns and store all of them in a gene pool. Furthermore, the genetic algorithm is used to find the combination of patterns that can produce the best result. The gene pool also records the quality of each gene so it can learn the pattern which most commonly found in multiple levels. For testing, this research develops a custom game with complicated rules that are hard to represent by a simple 2D array compared to the previously attempted work. The result of this research shows that the method can generate many complicated levels at once. Overall, levels generated using this method on average requires almost 3 times more steps to solve than the dataset.

Maze Generation Based on Difficulty using Genetic Algorithm with Gene Pool

Glossophobia or commonly called speech anxiety is the fear of public speaking. It is a psychological disorder which a person is afraid to speak in public or can be interpreted as nervous. This problem is caused by the lack of preparation or training carried out to public speaking. In Addition, the training is generally lack the atmosphere or impression like speaking in public. Therefore, this system was created for helping someone in preparation before public speaking. This system simulation for practicing public speaking based on technology such as virtual reality, video 360, and arduino heart rate sensors. The results of the functionality and non-functionality of the system have been fully implemented and are running well. In addition, based on the results of the questionnaire and test of objectivity, this system has good feedback for helping someone to prepare and practice in public speaking based on virtual reality technology.
