Planar Chiral Organoboranes with Thermoresponsive Emission and Circularly Polarized Luminescence: Integration of Pillar[5]arenes with Boron Chemistry
Jin-Fa Chen,Xiaodong Yin,Bowen Wang,Kai Zhang,Guoyun Meng,Songhe Zhang,Yafei Shi,Nan Wang,Suning Wang,Pangkuan Chen +9 more
TL;DR: An efficient and straightforward approach is presented to achieve early examples of highly luminescent chiral systems ( P5NN and P5BN) and an interesting thermochromic shift of the emission over a wide range of temperature is afforded.
Stimuli-Responsive B/N Lewis Pairs Based on the Modulation of B–N Bond Strength
Qinggao Hou,Lijie Liu,Soren K. Mellerup,Nan Wang,Tai Peng,Pangkuan Chen,Suning Wang,Suning Wang +7 more
TL;DR: Examination of the substituent effects of the Lewis base moiety reveals that bulky or aryl substituents favor the dynamic switching of the B-N bond in response to external stimuli, such as heat or mechanical pressure, leading to emission color modulation.

Diazocine Derivatives: A Family of Azobenzenes for Photochromism with Highly Enhanced Turn-On Fluorescence.
TL;DR: Using the photochemistry of the C2-bridged azobenzene, two diazocine-based photoswitching molecules (cAz1 and cAz2) are accomplished that show a turn-on fluorescence, and the emission was highly enhanced with quantum efficiency increasing up to 0.22 for cAz1.

Stabilising fleeting intermediates of stilbene photocyclization with amino-borane functionalisation: the rare isolation of persistent dihydrophenanthrenes and their [1,5] H-shift isomers
Yonggang Shi,Soren K. Mellerup,Kang Yuan,Guo-Fei Hu,Francoise Sauriol,Tai Peng,Nan Wang,Pangkuan Chen,Suning Wang,Suning Wang +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the stability of 4a,4b-dihydrophenanthrene (DPH) was characterized using NMe2 and BMes2 groups.
Pillar[5]arene-Based Dual Chiral Organoboranes with Allowed Host-Guest Chemistry and Circularly Polarized Luminescence.
Jin-Fa Chen,Xiaodong Yin,Kai Zhang,Zhenhui Zhao,Songhe Zhang,Niu Zhang,Nan Wang,Pangkuan Chen,Pangkuan Chen +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe two examples of highly luminescent organoboranes (NP5BN1 and NP5BN2) with dual chirality that were achieved by molecular functionalization of planar chiral pillar[5]arenes with naphthyls.
