Natural circulation loops—advantages, challenges, and classification
Pallippattu Krishnan Vijayan,Arun K. Nayak,Naveen Kumar +2 more
- 01 Jan 2019
TL;DR: Natural circulation loops (NCs) as mentioned in this paper have been extensively used in nuclear power plants, where heat generation continues even after termination of the fission reaction due to the radioactive decay of fission products and this heat must be removed to maintain fuel temperatures within safe limits.

Heat transfer and flow pattern in co-current downward steam condensation in vertical pipes-II: Comparison with published work
Arijit A. Ganguli,Sachin K. Dahikar,Mayurkumar S. Gandhi,Jyeshtharaj B. Joshi,Pallippattu Krishnan Vijayan +4 more
TL;DR: A critical review of the most important experimental, analytical and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) investigations have been presented in this paper, where a preliminary regime map has been constructed for downward flow steam condensation inside pipes.

A novel approach to correlate heat transfer and pressure fluctuation in gas–solid spouted bed
Palash Kumar Mollick,Palash Kumar Mollick,Partha S. Goswami,M. Krishnan,Pallippattu Krishnan Vijayan,Aniruddha B. Pandit +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a spectral analysis of pressure fluctuation in spouted beds has been used as a well-established diagnostic tool to determine bed and flow characteristics because of its smooth operation.

Reliable prediction of complex thermal hydraulic parameters by ANN
TL;DR: In this article, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) have been applied to analyse the consistency and accuracy of the thermal hydraulic data-base, the ANN predictions are more accurate and cover wider range of parameters compared to model based predictions.

PIV investigations on the turbulent mixing of two opposing flows inside a scaled chimney model of a research reactor
Samiran Sengupta,Majid Hassan Khan,Vijay K. Veluri,Pallippattu Krishnan Vijayan,Amit Agrawal,S. Bhattacharya +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, particle image velocimetry (PIV) data was used to study the turbulent mixing behavior of two opposing flows inside a 1/18th scaled down model of square chimney structure of a pool type research reactor.
