TL;DR: The authors' observations demonstrate that the accelerated flow of ions is not limited to open field lines, which indicates that an efficient anomalous transport of the plasma occurs, and it is suggested that the anomaly is due to a fast spatial diffusion associated with large amplitude electromagnetic ULF fluctuations observed simultaneously.
