Micropropagation of Wild Service Tree (Sorbus torminalis [L.] Crantz): The Regulative Role of Different Aromatic Cytokinins During Organogenesis
J. Malá,P. Máchová,H. Cvrčková,Michal Karady,Ondřej Novák,Jaromír Mikulík,Eva Hauserová,Jarmila Greplová,Miroslav Strnad,Karel Doležal +9 more
TL;DR: The results found in this study about optimal plant hormone concentrations may be used to improve in vitro rooting efficiency of the wild service tree and possibly also of other plant species.

The role of cytokinins during micropropagation of wych elm
J. Malá,P. Máchová,H. Cvrčková,Michal Karady,Ondřej Novák,Jaromír Mikulík,J. Dostál,Miroslav Strnad,Karel Doležal +8 more
TL;DR: Quantification of 50 endogenous cytokinins, using a recently developed UPLC-ESI(+)-MS/MS method, showed significant differences in the cytokinin metabolites (especially different glucosides) in explants cultivated on media supplemented with BA or mT.

Heavy metal accumulation by willow clones in short-time hydroponics
TL;DR: Generally, substantially higher concentrations of accumulated Pb and Cd were identified in roots than in aboveground parts of all willow clones, even if clonal differences in their ac cumulation were detected.
Public attitudes towards the use of transgenic forest trees: a cross-country pilot survey
Vassiliki Kazana,Lambros Tsourgiannis,Valasia Iakovoglou,Christos Stamatiou,Alexander Alexandrov,Susana de Sousa Araújo,Saša Bogdan,Gregor Bozic,Robert Brus,Gerd Bossinger,Anastasia Boutsimea,Nevenka Ćelepirović,H. Paiva,Dimitiros Raptis,Conchi Sánchez,Sandra Sharry,Terézia Salaj,Mirjana Šijačić-Nikolić,Noemi Tel-Zur,Ivaylo Tsvetkov,Cristina Vettori,Nieves Vidal +33 more
TL;DR: In this article, a pioneer cross-country pilot survey on public attitudes towards the use of transgenic forest trees was conducted using young population as a focus group, which was decided mainly because this focus group represents the future consumers, policy makers or developers.
Heavy metals uptake by the hybrid aspen and rowan-tree clones
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of the uptake of the toxic, heavy metals Cd, Pb and the essential metal Mn was performed on hybrid aspen and rowan trees.
