The applications of copper (Cu) and Cu-based nanoparticles, which are based on the earth-abundant and inexpensive copper metal, have generated a great deal of interest in recent years, especially in the field of catalysis. The possible modification of the chemical and physical properties of these nanoparticles using different synthetic strategies and conditions and/or via postsynthetic chemical treatments has been largely responsible for the rapid growth of interest in these nanomaterials and their applications in catalysis. Quinazolines and quinazolinones are considered as an important chemical for the synthesis of various physiological significance and pharmacological utilized molecules. Quinazolines and quinazolinone are a large class of biologically active compounds that exhibited broad spectrum of biological activities such as anti-HIV, anticancer, antifungal, antibacterial, antimutagenic, anticoccidial, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, antimalarial, antioxidant, antileukemic, and antileishmanial activities and other activities. Chemical Characteristics, Synthetic Methods, and Biological Potential of Quinazoline and Quinazolinone Derivatives

The development of new drug candidates is really a very expensive process that consumes time and effort. Hence, there is an urgent need to develop new methods that are capable of predicting the important pharmacokinetic properties of drugs in a rapid and more accurate manner before being synthesized. Various computational models have emerged for the purpose of predicting ADMET (absorption, distribution, mechanism, excretion, and toxicity) parameters of drugs and drug-like compounds. This chapter focuses mainly on the characterization of the modern in silico techniques that predict the behavior of drugs during the early stages of drug discovery and development and the purposes, needs, and objectives of ADMET studies, which in turn facilitates the discovery of new drugs with more desired absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion profiles in addition to the least toxic effects. This chapter also provides an insight into the physicochemical parameters affecting the ADMET of drugs including the solubility, lipophilicity, permeability, as well as the hydrogen bonding. The in silico prediction of the active transport of drugs through various transporter types (P-gp, BCRP, nucleoside transporter, hPEPT1, hASBT, OCTs, OATPs, and BBB choline transporter) is also discussed. The recent in silico tools that are used in the modern ADMET software along with the future perspective and challenges are also covered.

Energy storage is big problem nowadays depend on the challenges of conventional storage devices. Supercapacitor offers promising alternative approach for increasing power demands of energy storage devices with their high power density, less charge discharge time ability and long cycle life. In this review classification of supercapacitors is done based on materials used for electrodes and performance of the various type of supercapacitor is reviewed. In carbons activated carbon is most widely used material in supercapacitor electrodes. Amorphous nanostructured oxides, mixed metal oxides are also proposed for high performance supercapacitor devices. Recent development in the field of MnO2 based composites and electrodes prepared by green approach for supercapacitor application is discussed. Recent development in the field of supercapattery is also discussed, supercapattery exhibits comparable performance to battery in energy capacity and to supercapacitor in cycle life and power capability.
