Mortality and exacerbations associated with Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. A regional cohort study of 22,689 outpatients
Christian Philip Rønn,P. Kamstrup,Josefin Eklöf,Louise Toennesen,Jonas Bredtoft Boel,Christian Østergaard Andersen,Ram Benny Dessau,Jon Torgny Wilcke,Pradeesh Sivapalan,Charlotte Suppli Ulrik,Jens-Ulrik Stæhr Jensen +10 more
TL;DR: It is found that a lower respiratory tract culture positive for S. maltophilia in COPD patients was associated with a substantially increased mortality and hospitalisation for exacerbation of COPD.

Karsdal,Jens-Ulrik Stæhr Jensen,Pradeesh Sivapalan +22 more
TL;DR: In COPD patients with an acute exacerbation, VWF-N was associated with future MACE and warrants further studies in a larger population, using multivariable Cox proportional hazards models.
Inhaled corticosteroids and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in outpatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a retrospective cohort study.
Christian Philip Rønn,P. Kamstrup,Christian Kjer Heerfordt,Pradeesh Sivapalan,Josefin Eklöf,Jonas Bredtoft Boel,Christian Ostergaard,Ram Benny Dessau,Mia Moberg,Julie Janner,C. Ulrik +10 more
TL;DR: Inhaled corticosteroids are associated with an increased risk of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia infection in patients with COPD. The risk increases with increasing ICS dose.

D-dimer in COPD out-patients: Distribution, association with mortality and effect modification by anticoagulant therapy. A preplanned, published protocol cohort study.
P. Kamstrup,Pradeesh Sivapalan,Christian Philip Rønn,Ema Rastoder,Daniel Modin,Anna Kjær Kristensen,Elisabeth Bendstrup,Rikke Sørensen,Tor Biering-Sørensen,Charlotte Ulrik,Jørgen Vestbo,J. Jensen +11 more
- 09 Sep 2023
TL;DR: This cohort study of 1,444 COPD out-patients found high D-dimer levels associated with increased all-cause mortality, but the association was attenuated after adjustment, with no significant interaction with anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy.

Effect of 10-Day Treatment with 50 mg Prednisolone Once-Daily on Haemostasis in Healthy Men—A Randomised Placebo-Controlled Trial
P. Kamstrup,Ema Rastoder,Pernille H Hellmann,Pradeesh Sivapalan,Emil List Larsen,Jørgen Vestbo,Charlotte Suppli Ulrik,Jens P. Goetze,Filip K. Knop,Jens-Ulrik Stæhr Jensen +9 more
TL;DR: Exposure to corticosteroid prednisolone did not alter TEG-assessed maximal amplitude of clot, despite that it affected prothrombotic markers and increased antithromBotic markers (protein C and antithromabin).
