Infection Exposure Is a Causal Factor in B-cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia as a Result of Pax5-Inherited Susceptibility
Alberto Martín-Lorenzo,Julia Hauer,Carolina Vicente-Dueñas,Franziska Auer,Inés González-Herrero,Idoia García-Ramírez,Sebastian Ginzel,Ralf Thiele,Stefan N. Constantinescu,Christoph Bartenhagen,Martin Dugas,Michael Gombert,Daniel Schäfer,Oscar Blanco,Andrea Mayado,Alberto Orfao,Diego Alonso-López,Javier De Las Rivas,César Cobaleda,María Begoña García-Cenador,Francisco Javier García-Criado,Isidro Sánchez-García,Arndt Borkhardt +22 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that delayed infection exposure is a causal factor in pB-ALL and these findings have critical implications for the understanding of the pathogenesis of leukemia and for the development of novel therapies for this disease.
Crebbp loss cooperates with Bcl2 overexpression to promote lymphoma in mice
Idoia García-Ramírez,Saber Tadros,Inés González-Herrero,Alberto Martín-Lorenzo,Guillermo Rodríguez-Hernández,Dalia Moore,Lucía Ruiz-Roca,Oscar Blanco,Diego Alonso-López,Javier De Las Rivas,Keenan Hartert,Romain Duval,David Klinkebiel,Martin Bast,Julie M. Alizadeh,Isidro Sánchez-García,Michael R. Green,Michael R. Green +27 more
TL;DR: There is a significant difference in the spectrum of CREBBP mutations in these 2 diseases, with higher frequencies of nonsense/frameshift mutations in DLBCL compared with FL, and it is suggested this may parallel the role ofCREBBP frameshift/nonsense mutations inDLBCL that result in loss of the protein, but may contrast the role in the lysine acetyltransferase domain that are more frequently observed in FL and yield an inactive protein.

p38γ is essential for cell cycle progression and liver tumorigenesis
Antonia Tomás-Loba,Elisa Manieri,Elisa Manieri,Bárbara González-Terán,Alfonso Mora,Luis Leiva-Vega,Ayelén M Santamans,Rafael Romero-Becerra,Elena Rodríguez,Aránzazu Pintor-Chocano,Ferran Feixas,Juan Antonio López,Beatriz Caballero,Marianna Trakala,Oscar Blanco,Jorge L Torres,Lourdes Hernández-Cosido,Valle Montalvo-Romeral,Nuria Matesanz,Marta Roche-Molina,Juan A. Nevzorova,Francisco Javier Cubero,Jerónimo Bravo,Jesús Vázquez,Marcos Malumbres,Miguel Marcos,Sílvia Osuna,Guadalupe Sabio +35 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that p38 MAPK gamma (p38γ) acts as a CDK-like kinase and thus cooperates with CDKs, regulating entry into the cell cycle, and could be a therapeutic target in the treatment of this disease.
CXCR4 expression enhances diffuse large B cell lymphoma dissemination and decreases patient survival.
Maria J. Moreno,Rosa Bosch,Rebeca Dieguez-Gonzalez,Silvana Novelli,Ana Mozos,Alberto Gallardo,Miguel Angel Pavón,María Virtudes Céspedes,Albert Grañena,Miguel Alcoceba,Oscar Blanco,Marcos González-Díaz,Jorge Sierra,Ramon Mangues,Isolda Casanova +14 more
TL;DR: Results show that CXCR4 mediates dissemination ofDLBCL cells and define for the first time its value as an independent prognostic marker in DLBCL patients.

Transient expression of Bcl6 is sufficient for oncogenic function and induction of mature B-cell lymphoma
Michael R. Green,Carolina Vicente-Dueñas,Isabel Romero-Camarero,Chih Long Liu,Bo Dai,Inés González-Herrero,Idoia García-Ramírez,Esther Alonso-Escudero,Javeed Iqbal,Wing C. Chan,Elena Campos-Sanchez,Alberto Orfao,Belén Pintado,Teresa Flores,Oscar Blanco,Rafael Jiménez,Jose A. Martinez-Climent,Francisco Javier García Criado,María Begoña García Cenador,Shuchun Zhao,Yasodha Natkunam,Izidore S. Lossos,Ravindra Majeti,Ari Melnick,César Cobaleda,Ash A. Alizadeh,Isidro Sánchez-García +26 more
TL;DR: This work identifies gain of 3q27.2 as being significantly associated with adverse outcome in DLBCL and linked with the ABC-like subtype, and model this hit-and-run mechanism by transiently expressing Bcl6 within murine HSPCs, and finds that it causes mature B-cell lymphomas that lack BCL6 expression and target-gene repression.
