Effects of H3PO4 and KOH in carbonization of lignocellulosic material
TL;DR: In this paper, a stem of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) was carbonized at different temperatures (400-600°C) to investigate the effects of their impregnation with aqueous solution of either phosphoric acid (85 ¼ ) or potassium hydroxide (3 ¼ ).

HPLC coupled to UV–vis detection for quantitative determination of phenolic compounds and caffeine in different brands of coffee in the Algerian market
TL;DR: In this paper, HPLC coupled with UV-vis detection was used for the analysis of eight phenolic acids, three flavonoids, and caffeine in sixteen coffee samples (roasted, green and instant) collected from the Algerian market.

Effects of feedstock pre-drying on carbonization of KOH-mixed bituminous coal in preparation of activated carbon
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used thermogravimetric analysis from 30 to 1000 °C to obtain activated carbon samples of different porosities and other characteristic features using bituminous coal-KOH feedstocks of different degrees of pre-drying.

A DFT method for the study of the antioxidant action mechanism of resveratrol derivatives
TL;DR: The results revealed that the antioxidant pharmacophore of 2, 4-DHS and 2,4,4′-THS, exhibiting higher antioxidant activity than resveratrol, is the 2-hydroxystilbene, rather than 4-HydroxystILbene.

Homolytic and heterolytic O–H bond cleavage in trans-resveratrol and some phenantrene analogs: A theoretical study
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between the structure and the antioxidant activity of trans-resveratrol (RSV) and its phenantrene analogs in the gas phase, benzene and water was investigated.
