Browning of freshwaters: Consequences to ecosystem services, underlying drivers, and potential mitigation measures
Emma S. Kritzberg,Eliza Maher Hasselquist,Martin Škerlep,Stefan Löfgren,Olle Olsson,Johanna Stadmark,Salar Valinia,Lars-Anders Hansson,Hjalmar Laudon +8 more
TL;DR: Managing the land use in the hydrologically connected parts of the landscape may be the most feasible way to counteractBrowning of natural waters, and potential mitigation measures to locally counteract browning are explored.
The feasibility of heavy battery electric trucks
Björn Nykvist,Olle Olsson +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the economic feasibility of heavy battery electric trucks might have been generally underestimated, and that the competitiveness per kilometer is worse for heavy trucks than for lighter trucks are very sensitive to assumptions about battery cost per kWh and lifetime of the battery pack.

Phasing out the blast furnace to meet global climate targets
TL;DR: In this article, the authors estimate the cumulative emissions from existing primary steel production equipment if operated as historically observed, based on furnace-level data of historical operating patterns, and find that the emissions commitment of current primary steel equipment is significantly smaller (21 Gt CO2eq) than previously suggested (52-65 GtCO2eq).

The dynamics of the global wood pellet markets and trade – key regions, developments and impact factors
Daniela Thrän,Kay Schaubach,David Robert Peetz,Martin Junginger,T. Mai-Moulin,Fabian Schipfer,Olle Olsson,Patrick Lamers +7 more
TL;DR: The global pellet market is growing but with different characteristics in different countries and regions as discussed by the authors, and projections for future development are difficult as low pellet prices and uncertain sustainability obligations may hinder further expansion.

European wood pellet market integration – A study of the residential sector
TL;DR: In this article, price series data and time series econometrics are used to determine whether residential sector wood pellet markets of Austria, Germany and Sweden are integrated, and the results of the econometric tests show that the German and Austrian markets can be considered to be integrated, whereas the Swedish market is separate from the other two countries.
