We investigate whether income inequality affects subsequent growth in a cross-country sample for 1965-90, using the models of Barro (1997), Bleaney and Nishiyama (2002) and Sachs and Warner (1997), with negative results. We then investigate the evolution of income inequality over the same period and its correlation with growth. The dominating feature is inequality convergence across countries. This convergence has been significantly faster amongst developed countries. Growth does not appear to influence the evolution of inequality over time. Outline

This article reviewed government governance of 213 countries worldwide which was categorized into six dimensions, including control of corruption, government effectiveness, political stability and absence of violence/terrorism, regulatory quality, rule of law and voice and accountability, based on the study of the World Bank under Worldwide Governance Indicators project. After the revision, it was found that developed countries had far higher government governance than developing countries, implying that government governance is one of the factors which drive the economic and social development of the nations. Moreover, Thailand could not yet be satisfied with its current government governance since its rank was quite low.

In line with an intensified call for conducting business in a greener and more sustainable way, sustainability-related entrepreneurship has become an important subfield of entrepreneurship research. The variety of terms, such as "sustainable entrepreneurship", "ecopreneurship", "environmental entrepreneurship/enviropreneurship", and "green entrepreneurship", reflects the fragmented and inconsistent findings of this research field. Based on the one-pillar model of sustainable development, i.e., ecological sustainability, we present the first systematic review of the literature on ecological sustainable entrepreneurship. This analysis of 114 scientific articles reveals a strong focus on the drivers of engagement in ecological sustainable entrepreneurship, the drivers of conducting business in an ecological sustainable way, the strategic actions taken by ecological sustainable enterprises, and the outcomes, enabling factors and challenges of ecological sustainable entrepreneurship. Based on this thematic clustering, we develop an integrative framework for ecological sustainable entrepreneurship and a coherent agenda for future research. This work may help researchers to take stock of the existing literature and advance this research field.

The heterogeneity of renewable energy consumption, carbon emission and financial development in the globe: A panel quantile regression approach

Вступ. Забезпечення стабільного функціонування ринку фінансових послуг є одним з важливих напрямів реалізації державної економічної політики. Без використання послуг фінансових посередників неможливе функціонування економіки. Злочинці в свою чергу користуються слабкими місцями фінансової системи країни для власного незаконного збагачення чи досягнення інших злочинних інтересів. Легалізуючи кошти, отримані незаконним шляхом злочинці дестабілізують фінансову систему країни та розширюють розмір тіньової економіки. Метою статті є характеристика можливості використання послуг страхових компаній з метою легалізації кримінальних доходів економічних агентів та ухилення від сплати податків підприємствами. Результати. В статті визначено ризик використання послуг страхових компаній для легалізації доходів, отриманих незаконним шляхом та місце даних послуг в на ринку. В ході дослідження було комплексно розглянуто можливість використання шахраями послуг страхових компаній для легалізації незаконних доходів економічних агентів та ухилення від сплати податків підприємствами. Були наведені приклади легалізації незаконних доходів через послуги страхових компаній. Визначено три основні групи послуг страхових компаній: загальне страхування, страхування життя (пенсійне страхування) та перестрахування. Визначено основні ризики, пов’язані з легалізацією незаконних доходів притаманні кожні групі послуг. Узагальнюючи проведений аналіз було визначено загальні рекомендації для страхових компаній для запобігання легалізації незаконних доходів через їх послуги. Перспективи подальших досліджень. Перспективами подальших досліджень є кількісна характеристика ризику легалізації кримінальних доходів економічних агентів та ухилення від сплати податків для кожної групи послуг, так як вони мають власні специфічні особливості.

At the same time, insufficient scientific works cover approaches to assessing investment potential of Ukraine, based on latest research results of foreign scientists within current topic. Current socio-economic determinants of foreign direct investment need to be studied. The research objective is to identify key determinants of foreign direct investment inflow in the economy of Ukraine. The statement of basic materials. The article have considered determinants of foreign direct investment inflows, which are related to country socio-economic development and state institutions indicators. Conclusions. Studies of statistics of groups in transition economies have shown that the simultaneous adoption indicators of socio-economic development and quality of public institutions into the model of country investment potential evaluation allows to evaluate the elasticity of foreign direct investment to changes in each of the determinants.

Sustainable development in the european union: managing artificial intelligence technology for green economic growth

As climate change and resource scarcity intensify, the pursuit of green economic growth has become a central policy priority across Europe. Understanding how different factors, particularly digitalization, institutional adaptation, and technological progress, interact to shape eco-productivity is essential for guiding sustainable transformation. This study explores the evolving dynamics of green economic growth across European countries, emphasizing the importance of technological change, institutional adaptation, and digital integration in driving sustainable development. While the literature has advanced the measurement of eco-productivity, gaps remain in understanding how digital capital interacts with traditional productivity models and environmental efficiency components. This research aims to address these gaps by evaluating green growth trajectories via a combination of entropy-based undesirable composite indicators and total factor productivity change (TFPCH) under both baseline and digital model specifications. Using panel data from 2005-2023, the study applies decomposition techniques to assess technological progress (TECH) and efficiency change (TECCH), complemented by nonparametric tests to determine statistical significance. The results show a general decline in environmental burdens across most EU countries, alongside modest but heterogeneous improvements in green productivity. While the TFPCH indicator remained stable between models, notable divergences emerged in its components: the digital model reported lower TECH values, indicating slower frontier advancement, but higher TECCH values, suggesting stronger catch-up dynamics when digital capital is accounted for. Countries such as Sweden, Finland, and Estonia led in reducing undesirable outputs, whereas others, including Poland, Ireland, and Ukraine, presented persistent challenges in improving relative eco-efficiency. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the structural factors underlying green growth and reveal the transformative potential of digitalization when appropriately integrated. The study concludes that while green economic growth is underway in many European regions, its pace and composition vary widely, requiring targeted policy responses.

Rethinking Factor Inputs in Green Economy Growth: Capital, Labour or AI?

This paper aims to estimate the spatial dynamic evolution of renewable energy development efficiency and justify the dimensions that impact renewable energy development efficiency. The study applies the following methods: the ultraefficient slack‐based model (SBM) (to measure the efficiency of renewable energy development); the Dagum‐Gini coefficient decomposition process (to measure the interregional differences in the development of renewable energy efficiency); nuclear density estimation (to measure the dynamic distribution); the Markov model (to forecast renewable energy development efficiency); and the Tobit model (to justify the influencing factors of renewable energy development efficiency). The empirical findings confirm that the overall regional gaps in renewable energy development efficiency in China are widening year by year. The average value of renewable energy development efficiency increased from 0.932 in 2006 to 1.078 in 2020. The mean Gini coefficient increased gradually from 0.028 in 2006 to 0.174, with mean differences exceeding the average growth trend after 2011 and slowly decreasing post‐2016. There is polarization in the eastern region, while there is no polarization in the northeast. The overall level of renewable energy development efficiency in the middle and western areas is improving and showing a trend of absolute difference narrowing. In addition, economic development, green finance, technological progress, urbanization rate, and economic openness are conducive to renewable energy development efficiency, and renewable energy development efficiency is in a rapid development trend. Considering the findings, China should implement targeted regional development strategies, enhance green finance mechanisms, promote technological innovation, and align urbanization policies with renewable energy goals to reduce regional disparities and accelerate sustainable renewable energy development.
