Assessment of Coagulation–Flocculation Process Efficiency for the Natural Organic Matter Removal in Drinking Water Treatment
Corina Petronela Mustereț,Irina Morosanu,Ramona Ciobanu,Oana Plavan,Andreea Gherghel,Malek Al-Refai,Ioana Roman,Carmen Teodosiu +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the coagulation-flocculation (C/F) is applied for NOM removal from water sources (especially rivers), and the efficiency of C/F is investigated in both cold and warm conditions by varying coagulant dose and mixing conditions.

Environmental monitoring and impact assessment of Prut River cross-border pollution
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied the improved Leopold Matrix and the Rapid Impact Assessment Matrix to assess the pollutants' impacts in the Prut River cross-border section, in the case of two countries (Romania and Republic of Moldova).

Doping zinc oxide and titanium dioxide nanoparticles with gold induces additional oxidative stress, membrane damage, and neurotoxicity in Mytilus galloprovincialis: Results from a laboratory bioassay.
Imen Bouzidi,Abdelhafidh Khazri,Karine Mougin,Wejden Bendhafer,Abdelghafar M. Abu-Elsaoud,Oana Plavan,Mohamed A. M. Ali,Gabriel-Ionut Plăvan,Sadin Özdemir,Hamouda Beyrem,Fehmi Boufahja,Badreddine Sellami +11 more
TL;DR: It was found that biometal dyshomeostasis could occur following NP treatment and that doping the NPs aggravated this response and it was found that biometal dyshomeostasis could occur following NP treatment and that doping the NPs aggravated this response.

Removal of Diclofenac and Heavy Metal Ions from Aqueous Media Using Composite Sorbents in Dynamic Conditions
Daniela Fighir,Carmen Paduraru,Ramona Ciobanu,Florin Bucatariu,Oana Plavan,Andreea Gherghel,George Barjoveanu,Marcela Mihai,Carmen Teodosiu +8 more
TL;DR: The removal of diclofenac and heavy metal ions from aqueous media using composite sorbents in dynamic conditions is investigated. The composite sorbents are prepared using a layer-by-layer or coacervate direct deposition approach. The adsorption capacities and affinities for the metal ions and diclofenac sodium salt are examined in single- and multi-component aqueous solutions. The kinetics of the dynamic adsorption process are examined using two non-linear models.

Heavy metals assessment in the major stages of winemaking: chemometric analysis and impacts on human health and environment
Georgiana-Diana Dumitriu,Carmen Teodosiu,Irina Morosanu,Oana Plavan,Iulian Gabur,Valeriu V. Cotea +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the frequently detected heavy metals (HMs): Cr-Chromium, Fe-Iron, Cu-Copper, Mn-Manganese, Ni-Nickel and Zn-Zinc) in the winemaking stages of white and red wine varieties.
