P.122 Unbiased whole brain circuit interrogation reveals neurons restoring walking after spinal cord injury
Newton Cho,Jordan W. Squair,Nicholas D. James,Laetitia Baud,A. Leonhartsberger,Kristina Sveistyte,Katia Galan,Quentin Barraud,Maged Goubran,Laura Batti,Stéphane Pagès,Matthieu Gautier,T. Hutson,Claudia Kathe,Arnaud Bichat,O. Rizzo,Marie-Laure Hodara,Jocelyne Bloch,Grégoire Courtine +18 more
TL;DR: This is the first demonstration of the LH’s role in locomotion post-SCI and is a novel DBS target that robustly augmented locomotor function, dependent on LH glutamatergic cells, which may be a promising intervention in humans.
200 Unbiased Interrogation of Whole Brain Circuits Identifies Neurons That Restore Walking After Spinal Cord Injury

TL;DR: In this article , the lateral hypothalamus (LH) was found to be a functionally and anatomically dynamic region post-SCI correlating with recovery, and the locomotor role of this region with optogenetics and chemogenetics was investigated.
