The Synergistic Effect of Exogenous Glutamine and Rifampicin Against Mycobacterium Persisters
Xue Huang,Xiangke Duan,Jiang Li,Jingjing Niu,Siqi Yuan,Xiaoyu Wang,Nzungize Lambert,Xue Li,Junqi Xu,Zhen Gong,Shuangquan Yan,Longxiang Xie,Jianping Xie +12 more
TL;DR: The result showed that glutamine decreases M. smegmatis tolerance to rifampicin upon starvation, and glutamine might represent a synergistic agent of rifampsicin to kill Mycobacteria persisters.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis PPE10 (Rv0442c) alters host cell apoptosis and cytokine profile via linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex HOIP-NF-κB signaling axis.
Mohammed Asaad,Kaisar Ali,M.A. Abo-kadoum,Nzungize Lambert,Zhen Gong,Hao Wang,Moure Uae,Stech A.E. Nazou,Zhongmei Kuang,Jianping Xie +9 more
TL;DR: Ms_PPE10 showed more resistance to stress conditions such as diamide, and low pH, as well as higher survival within the macrophage, and the host's cell apoptosis was regulated via decreased expression of caspases, IL-1,IL-6, and TNF-α through the LUBAC HOIP-NF-κB signaling axis.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis toxin Rv2872 is an RNase involved in vancomycin stress response and biofilm development
Xiaoyu Wang,Xiaokang Zhao,Hao Wang,Xue Huang,Xiangke Duan,Yinzhong Gu,Nzungize Lambert,Ke Zhang,Zhenhao Kou,Jianping Xie +9 more
TL;DR: Toxin Rv2872 was firstly reported to be a endonuclease involved in antibiotic stress responses, cell wall structure, and biofilm development and may result from the RNase activity of R v2872 as purified Rv 2872 toxin protein can cleave the products of several key genes involved in abovementioned phenotypes.

Interleukin-10 Family and Tuberculosis: An Old Story Renewed.
TL;DR: The interleukin-10 (IL-10) family of cytokines consists of six immune mediators that can suppress the antimycobacterial immunity and promote the survival of Pathogen, while IL-22 and IL-24 can generate protective responses and inhibit the intracellular growth of pathogen.
Mce-associated protein Rv0177 alters the cell wall structure of Mycobacterium smegmatis and promotes macrophage apoptosis via regulating the cytokines.
Shuangquan Yan,Junfeng Zhen,Yue Li,Chenhui Zhang,Andrea Stojkoska,Nzungize Lambert,Qiming Li,Ping Li,Jianping Xie +8 more
TL;DR: The M. smegmatis Rv0177 recombinant modulates the macrophages immune response and JNK signaling pathway is mainly engaged in the interplay of the recombinant strains and macrophage.
