Quantum-tailored machine-learning characterization of a superconducting qubit
Elie Genois,Jonathan A. Gross,Agustin Di Paolo,Noah Stevenson,Gerwin Koolstra,Akel Hashim,Irfan Siddiqi,Alexandre Blais +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors incorporate features of quantum mechanics in the design of their ML approach to characterize the dynamics of a quantum device and learn device parameters, which outperforms physics-agnostic recurrent neural networks trained on numerically generated and experimental data obtained from continuous weak measurement of a driven superconducting transmon qubit.

Monitoring fast superconducting qubit dynamics using a neural network
Gerwin Koolstra,Noah Stevenson,Shiva Lotfallahzadeh Barzili,Lucas Burns,Karthik Siva,Sacha Greenfield,William Livingston,Akel Hashim,Ravi Naik,John Mark Kreikebaum,O'brien Kevin P,David I. Santiago,Justin Dressel,Irfan Siddiqi +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) artificial neural network is used to track rapidly driven superconducting qubit trajectories with minimal prior information, and the LSTM produces trajectories that include qubit-readout resonator correlations due to a finite detection bandwidth.
