Near-infrared emitting pyrazole-bridged binuclear platinum complexes: Synthesis, photophysical and electroluminescent properties in PLEDs
TL;DR: In this article, two novel near-infrared emitting binuclear platinum (II) complexes were successfully designed and synthesized with the bridged ancillary ligand of 3,5-dimethyl pyrazol, in which 2-(pyren-1-yl) pyridine and its derivative of 2-(7-( tert -butyl)pyren 1-ylpyridine were used as cyclometalated ligands, respectively.

Near-infrared emission from binuclear platinum (II) complexes containing pyrenylpyridine and pyridylthiolate units: Synthesis, photo-physical and electroluminescent properties
Ning Su,Fanyuan Meng,Fanyuan Meng,Pu Wang,Xia Liu,Mengbing Zhu,Weiguo Zhu,Shi-Jian Su,Junting Yu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, two binuclear platinum (II) complexes of (Rpypy)2Pt2(pyt)2 were synthesized and characterized, in which Rpy represents 2-(1-pyrenyl) pyridine (pypY) and pyt refers to pyridyl-2-thiolate, respectively.

Efficient strategies to improve photovoltaic performance of linear-shape molecules by introducing large planar aryls in molecular center and terminals
Youming Zhang,Manjun Xiao,Manjun Xiao,Ning Su,J.X. Zhong,Hua Tan,Yafei Wang,Yu Liu,Yong Pei,Renqiang Yang,Weiguo Zhu +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, three linear-shape small molecules of TPA(DPP-PN), Cz(CNP-PN)(2), and Fl(Dipyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-PN) were synthesized and characterized, which contain the same arm of diketopyrrolopeyrrole and large aryl terminals of phenanthrene (PN), as well as different aryls centers of triphenylamine( TPA), carbazole (Cz) and fluorene (Fl), respectively.

Tuning the Isomeric Fused Heteroaromatic Core of Small Donor–Acceptor Molecules to Alter Their Crystalline Nature and Enhance Photovoltaic Performance
Dongfeng Dang,Manjun Xiao,Manjun Xiao,Pei Zhou,J.X. Zhong,Jiang Fan,Ning Su,Wenjing Xiong,Chuncheng Yang,Qiong Wang,Yafei Wang,Yong Pei,Renqiang Yang,Weiguo Zhu +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed that tuning the isomeric core would increase the carrier mobility significantly and consequently enhance the photovoltaic performance of the resulting molecules in OPV cells.

Benzodi(pyridothiophene): a novel acceptor unit for application in A1–A–A1 type photovoltaic small molecules
Jianhua Chen,Manjun Xiao,Manjun Xiao,Linrui Duan,Qiong Wang,Hua Tan,Ning Su,Yu Liu,Renqiang Yang,Weiguo Zhu +9 more
TL;DR: The pentacyclic BDPT aromatic unit can form big conjugated and planar SMs with the A1 unit, resulting in enhanced π-π stacking and crystallinity and the broader absorption spectrum, lower HOMO energy level, higher photo-response efficiency and better photovoltaic properties were exhibited for BDPP.
