π–π Stacking, spin density and magnetic coupling strength
Yan-Hui Chi,Jing-Min Shi,Hong-Nan Li,Wei Wei,Ethan Cottrill,Ning Pan,Hu Chen,Yuan Liang,Li Yu,Yi-Quan Zhang,Chao Hou +10 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed for the first time that the spin density on short contact atoms is a major factor that contributes to the π-π stacking magnetic coupling strength.

Facile preparation of a hierarchically porous metal–organic nanocomposite with excellent catalytic performance
Kuang Rui,Zheng Luyi,Ethan Cottrill,Ning Pan,Yan-Hui Chi,Jing-Min Shi,Zhang Chengcheng,Chen Xuexue +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a hierarchical micro-meso-macro porous metal-organic nanocomposite, hpCuL (L = 2,4,6-tris(3,5-dicarboxylatephenylamino)-1,3, 5-triazine), using a facile gel-aging process, was reported.

Synthesis, crystal structures, and magnetism of the binuclear radical complex [N-methylpyridinium] 2 [Ni(tdas) 2 ] 2
Chen Xuexue,Fang Qiao,Chi-Feng Wang,Yan-Hui Chi,Ethan Cottrill,Ning Pan,Jing-Min Shi,Wei-Wei Zhu-Ge,Yong-Xin Fu,Jun Xu,Xiao-Ping Qian +10 more
TL;DR: The binuclear radical complex [N-methylpyridinium]2[Ni(tdas)2]2 (tdas = 1,2,5thiadiazole-3,4-dithiolate) has been prepared and its crystal structures determined by X-ray crystallography at three different temperatures in order to investigate the changes in coordination structure and magnetic properties with temperature as discussed by the authors.

Synthesis, crystal structure, and π–π stacking magnetism of the mononuclear radical complex [N-hydrogenpyridinium][Pd(mnt)2]
Fang Qiao,Chi-Feng Wang,Chen Xuexue,Peng Wang,Yan-Hui Chi,Ethan Cottrill,Ning Pan,Jing-Min Shi,Wei-Wei Zhu-Ge,Yong-Xing Fu,Xiao-Ping Qian,Jun Xu +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reveal the mechanism of the strong antiferromagnetic interaction of a mononuclear radical anionic palladium complex with mnt as ligand, and the theoretical calculations indicate that the strong anti-romagnetic strength should be attributed to the PS-1 slipped π-π stacking interaction; the large spin densities on the associated short contact atoms should be a major factor leading to the strong magnetic coupling strength.

Green and mild oxidation: from acetate anion to oxalate anion
TL;DR: In this article, a novel reaction system for the preparation of oxalate anion from cupric acetate and 2-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline under green and mild reaction conditions is reported.
