Comparative Life-Cycle-Assessment analysis of three major water electrolysis technologies while applying various energy scenarios for a greener hydrogen production
TL;DR: In this paper, the potential environmental impacts of a greener hydrogen production have been analyzed taking the three most important water electrolysis technologies alkaline electrolysis (AEC), polymer electrolyte membrane (PEMEC), and solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) into account.

Levelized and environmental costs of power-to-gas generation in Germany
TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated the levelized cost of synthetic natural gas (SNG) and hydrogen generation in Germany applying the cost estimation method by Rubin et al. They concluded that the levelised costs of SNG and hydrogen are far too high compared to peer studies, as more cost factors have been considered after applying the method.

Economic analysis of hydrogen production in Germany with a focus on green hydrogen, considering all three major water electrolysis technologies
Niklas Gerloff
- 01 Jan 2023
TL;DR: In this article , the authors present an economic analysis of hydrogen production in Germany with a focus on green hydrogen production and comparison with alternative processes, and compare the two processes in terms of energy efficiency.
