Determination of kinetic and equilibrium regimes in the operation of polar organic chemical integrative samplers. Application to the passive sampling of the polar herbicides in aquatic environments.
TL;DR: The results showed that pharmaceutical configuration was probably more convenient for sampling basic, neutral or acidic herbicides than pesticide configuration for sampling different classes of herbicides representative of a wide range of polarity.

Liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry method for thirty-three pesticides in natural water and comparison of performance between classical solid phase extraction and passive sampling approaches
Sophie Lissalde,Nicolas Mazzella,Vincent Fauvelle,François Delmas,Patrick Mazellier,Patrick Mazellier,Bernard Legube +6 more
TL;DR: An analytical method for determining different classes of pesticides in water using LC-ESI-MS/MS and solid phase extraction of water samples from active sampling and field exposure of Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Samplers (POCIS).

Sensitivity of freshwater periphytic diatoms to agricultural herbicides.
Timothée Debenest,Eric Pinelli,Michel Coste,Jérôme Silvestre,Nicolas Mazzella,C. Madigou,François Delmas +6 more
TL;DR: Periphytic algae collected in situ were exposed under controlled conditions to two major herbicides used in French agriculture and results suggest that photosynthesis inhibitors like isoproturon favour species able to survive when the autotroph mode is inhibited.

Can POCIS be used in Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) monitoring networks? A study focusing on pesticides in a French agricultural watershed.
Gaëlle Poulier,Sophie Lissalde,Adeline Charriau,Rémy Buzier,François Delmas,Kewin Gery,Aurélie Moreira,Gilles Guibaud,Nicolas Mazzella +8 more
TL;DR: Comparison with data from the official monitoring programme from the French Water Agency showed that the POCIS is already suitable for both operational and investigative monitoring and an innovative procedure for using passive sampler data for compliance checks in the framework of surveillance monitoring is proposed.

Overview of the Chemcatcher® for the passive sampling of various pollutants in aquatic environments Part A: Principles, calibration, preparation and analysis of the sampler.
TL;DR: The passive sampler Chemcatcher(®), which was developed in 2000, can be adapted for various types of water contaminants depending on the materials chosen for the receiving phase and the membrane.
