Trochleoplasty techniques provide good clinical results in patients with trochlear dysplasia
Umile Giuseppe Longo,Candela Vincenzo,Nicholas Mannering,Nicholas Mannering,Mauro Ciuffreda,Giuseppe Salvatore,Alessandra Berton,Vincenzo Denaro +7 more
TL;DR: The three most popular trochleoplasty techniques are associated with significantly improved stability and function, showing a relatively low rate of osteoarthritis and pain, and a moderate rate of complications.

Outcomes of Posterior-Stabilized Compared with Cruciate-Retaining Total Knee Arthroplasty.
Umile Giuseppe Longo,Mauro Ciuffreda,Nicholas Mannering,Valerio D'Andrea,Joel Locher,Giuseppe Salvatore,Vincenzo Denaro +6 more
TL;DR: A meta‐analysis has demonstrated that PS TKA has a statistically significant greater postoperative improvement of KSFS, flexion, and extension, compared with the CR group, which seems to lead the surgeons to prefer the PS design for TKAs especially to achieve a higher postoperative ROM in patients with high functional demands.

Surgical versus conservative management of Type III acromioclavicular dislocation: a systematic review.
Umile Giuseppe Longo,Mauro Ciuffreda,Giacomo Rizzello,Nicholas Mannering,Nicholas Mannering,Nicola Maffulli,Nicola Maffulli,Vincenzo Denaro +7 more
TL;DR: No statistical significant differences were found between conservative and surgical approaches in terms of postoperative osteoarthritis and persistence ofPain, although persistence of pain seemed to occur less frequently in patients undergoing a surgical treatment.
All-polyethylene versus metal-backed tibial component in total knee arthroplasty.
Umile Giuseppe Longo,Mauro Ciuffreda,Valerio D'Andrea,Nicholas Mannering,Nicholas Mannering,Joel Locher,Vincenzo Denaro +6 more
TL;DR: The clinical relevance of this study is that metal-backed tibial components should be preferred in TKA surgery because complications are higher using all-polyethylene tibia components, and these items have a negative impact on the cost-effectiveness of all- polyethylene TBI components.

Wearable Carbon Nanotube‐Spandex Textile Yarns for Knee Flexion Monitoring
Cormac Fay,Nicholas Mannering,Ali Jeiranikhameneh,Fatemeh Mokhtari,Javad Foroughi,Ray H. Baughman,Peter F. M. Choong,Gordon G. Wallace +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the use of yarn-based sensors for joint kinematic sensing is described, and the results show a high correlation between both systems, with an average Pearson's r-value of 0.89 across each corresponding knee.
