Soil organic carbon and aggregation under poplar based agroforestry system in relation to tree age and soil type
TL;DR: In this article, the surface and subsurface soil samples from agroforestry and adjoining non-agro-forestry sites with different years of poplar plantation and varying soil textures (loamy sand and sandy clay) were analyzed for soil organic carbon, its sequestration and aggregate size distribution.

Sub-surface drip fertigation with conservation agriculture in a rice-wheat system: a breakthrough for addressing water and nitrogen use efficiency.
Harminder S. Sidhu,M.L. Jat,Yadvinder Singh,Ravneet Kaur Sidhu,Naveen Gupta,Parvinder Singh,Pankaj Singh,Hanuman S. Jat,Bruno Gérard +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the effects of residue mulch, different spacing and depths of laterals for SSDF on crop yield, irrigation water productivity (WPi), nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) and net returns for CA based rice-wheat (RW) production system in a silt loam soil in northwestern India.

Rice straw biochar application to soil irrigated with saline water in a cotton-wheat system improves crop performance and soil functionality in north-west India.
TL;DR: In this paper, a five-year field experiment was conducted in a cotton-wheat system to investigate the effect of different levels of irrigation water salinity (0.3, 5, 10, and 15 dSm−1) and rice straw biochar (0, 2, 4, and 8 dS−1), on the crop yield and soil functions.

Reticulocyte Hemoglobin vis-a-vis Serum Ferritin as a Marker of Bone Marrow Iron Store in Iron Deficiency Anemia.
Sudhir Mehta,Laxmi Kant Goyal,Debashish Kaushik,Sandhya Gulati,Nidhi Sharma,L Harshvardhan,Naveen Gupta +6 more
TL;DR: RET-He correlated significantly with serum ferritin and is also a better predictor of bone marrow iron stores than the latter and on ROC curve analysis, the AUC for RET-He was found to be 0.894 and best cut off value for predicting IDA was 22.4 pg.
