Lighting the world's treasures: Approaches to safer museum lighting
TL;DR: A strategy is reported to optimize lighting to reduce photochemical degradation of works of art and archival documents by improving luminous efficiency of the spectral profile to exclude light which doesn't contribute to brightness or color perception, while also trying to maintain color rendering.

Photoreactivity Of An N-Acetyl-7-Nitroindoline - Unraveling The Mechanism By Computation
Jose E Mendez,Nathan J. Westfall,Katja Michael,Carl W. Dirk +3 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this paper, a semi-empirical AMPAC study of the reaction pathway in the ground and excited states was conducted. And the results suggest an as yet experimentally unobserved ground state concerted suprafacial 1,5-sigmatropic shift pathway for the formation of the nitronic anhydride.

The photochemistry of the self-healing chromophore Disperse Orange 11
Nathan J. Westfall,Carl W. Dirk +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the possible alternative mechanisms of action, either intramolecular proton transfer (PT) or twisted intramolescular charge transfer (TICT) formation.
