The research is aimed at theoretical substantiation, development and experimental verification of methods of applying mobile technologies by university students. The research objective implies adapting audience response systems and mobile tools of multimedia development to be used in the classroom environment at universities. The research object is application of mobile ICT to the training process. The research subject is methods of applying audience response systems and mobile tools to conducting practical classes at the university. There are analyzed Ukrainian and foreign researches into the issues of mobile ICT application to the university students training. The authors have developed methods of applying audience response systems by taking Plickers as an example and mobile tools of multimedia development through using augmented reality tools. There is comparative assessment of functionality of audience response systems and mobile tools of developing multimedia with augmented reality. Efficiency of the developed technology is experimentally verified and confirmed.

The research aims to theoretically justify and experimentally verify selection of mobile ICT for learning informatics to future professionals in engineering pedagogy. The research tasks include selecting groups of informatics subjects and mobile ICT tools for learning future professionals in engineering pedagogy. The research object involves selection of mobile ICT for the training process. The re-search subject is selection of mobile ICT for learning informatics to future professionals in engineering pedagogy. The research results imply analysis of the national and foreign researches into mobile ICT for learning informatics. The latest publications concerning selection of mobile ICT for teaching Informatics subjects (Mobile Learning Management Systems, Mobile Modeling and Programming Environments, Mobile Database Management Systems, Mobile Multimedia Authoring Tools, Audience Response Systems) are analyzed. Informatics subjects are united into 19 groups, mobile ICT tools – into five groups. The experimental research is conducted according to the syllabuses for Speciality 015.10 “Professional Education (Computer Technologies)”. The expert assessment results for each of the content blocks of informatics subjects allow determining leading and auxiliary mobile ICT teaching tools.

The research is aimed at the theoretical justification, development and experimental verification of methods of using mobile technologies for teaching students of higher education institutions in the conditions of quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the study is the adaptation of mobile ICT to distance learning during quarantine. The object of the study is the use of mobile ICT for distance learning. The subject of the study: the use of mobile ICT for distance learning during quarantine. Ukrainian and foreign research on the application of mobile ICT (Audience Response Systems; Mobile Multimedia Authoring Tools development; Mobile Learning Management Systems; Mobile Modeling and Programming Environments; Mobile Database Management Systems) for the training of higher education applicants has been analyzed. The author's method of using the mobile modeling and programming tool in the Pydroid environment is presented. A comparative assessment of the functionality of five mobile ICT distance learning systems in the conditions of COVID-19 was carried out. A survey of the importance of using mobile ICT for distance learning in quarantine conditions was developed and analyzed.




Distance learning during COVID-19 pandemic: mobile information and communications technology overview

The Physiology Core Concept of flow down gradients is a major concept in physiology as pressure gradients are the key driving force for the bulk flow of fluids in biology. However, students struggle to understand that this principle is foundational to the mechanisms governing bulk flow across diverse physiological systems (e.g., blood flow, phloem sap flow). Our objective was to investigate if bulk flow items that differ in scenario context (i.e., taxa, amount of scientific terminology, living or non-living system) or which aspect of the pressure gradient is kept constant (i.e., starting pressure or pressure gradient) influence undergraduate students' reasoning. Item scenario context did not impact the type of reasoning students used. However, students were more likely to use the Physiology Core Concept of "flow down [pressure] gradients" when the pressure gradient was kept constant and less likely to use this concept when the starting pressure was kept constant. We also investigated if item scenario context or which aspect of the pressure gradient is kept constant impacted how consistent students were in the type of reasoning they used across two bulk flow items on the same homework. Most students were consistent across item scenario contexts (76%) and aspects of the pressure gradient kept constant (70%). Students who reasoned using "flow down gradients" on the first item were the most consistent (86, 89%) while students using "pressures indicate (but don't cause) flow" were the least consistent (43, 34%). Students who are less consistent know pressure is somehow involved or indicates fluid flow but do not have a firm grasp of the concept of a pressure gradient as the driving force for fluid flow. These findings are the first empirical evidence to support the claim that using Physiology Core Concept reasoning supports transfer of knowledge across different physiological systems.
