Genesis of Ultramafic Lamprophyres and Carbonatites at Aillik Bay, Labrador: a Consequence of Incipient Lithospheric Thinning beneath the North Atlantic Craton
Sebastian Tappe,Stephen F. Foley,George A. Jenner,Larry M. Heaman,Bruce A. Kjarsgaard,Rolf L. Romer,Andreas Stracke,Nancy Joyce,Jochen Hoefs +8 more
TL;DR: Aillikite is a type of ultramafic lamprophyre that consists of olivine and phlogopite phenocrysts in a carbonateor clinopyroxene-dominated groundmass.
Craton reactivation on the Labrador Sea margins: 40Ar/39Ar age and Sr–Nd–Hf–Pb isotope constraints from alkaline and carbonatite intrusives
Sebastian Tappe,Stephen F. Foley,Andreas Stracke,Rolf L. Romer,Bruce A. Kjarsgaard,Larry M. Heaman,Nancy Joyce +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the once-contiguous North Atlantic craton (NAC) is crosscut by the Labrador Sea that opened during the Early Cenozoic after extensive Mesozoic continental rifting and removal of cratonic mantle.

TL;DR: The 40Ar/39Ar dating method is among the most versatile of geochronometers, having the potential to date a broad variety of K-bearing materials spanning from the time of Earth's formation into the historical realm.
Timing of tectonometamorphism across the Green Mountain anticlinorium, northern Vermont Appalachians: 40Ar/39Ar data and correlations with southern Quebec
Sébastien Castonguay,Jonathan Kim,Peter J. Thompson,Marjorie H. Gale,Nancy Joyce,Jo Laird,Barry L. Doolan +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, step-heating and spot fusion data on amphibole and fabric-forming muscovite from samples taken across the Green Mountain anticlinorium was used to provide improved age constraints on tectonometamorphism of D 1 (latest Cambrian to Middle Ordovician), D 2 (Silurian-Early Devonian), and D 3 (Middle Devonian) events.

Taconic Metamorphism Preserved in the Baie Verte Peninsula, Newfoundland Appalachians: Geochronological Evidence for Ophiolite Obduction and Subduction and Exhumation of the Leading Edge of the Laurentian (Humber) Margin During Closure of the Taconic Seaway
TL;DR: The Baie Verte Peninsula, western Newfoundland Appalachians, preserves evidence for Early to mid Ordovician closure of the Taconic seaway, which led to obduction of the BVOT ophiolites onto the Laurentian (Humber) margin this paper.
