This paper has been attempt to presents the investigation of transient performance of Voltage Source Inverter (VSI)-fed induction motor drives using vector and volts/Hz control techniques. In general, the principle of operating a three phase induction motor indicates that the speed of the motor is directly related to the frequency of the supply. The voltage source inverter fed induction motor drives are increasingly applied in many recent industrial applications that require superior transient performance. Recently, developments in power electronics and semiconductor technology have lead improvements in power electronic systems. Hence, different circuit configurations namely multilevel inverters have become popular and considerable interest by researcher are given on them. Variable voltage and frequency supply to AC drives is invariably obtained from a three-phase voltage source inverter. There is an increasing trend of using Space Vector PWM (SVPWM) because of their easier digital realization and better DC bus utilization features. Simulation results and discussions regarding with SIMULINK model of investigation of transient performance of Voltage Source Inverter (VSI)-fed induction motor drives using vector and volts/Hz control techniques are obtained using MATLAB/SIMULINK environments for effectiveness of the proposed technique.

Investigation of transient performance of VSI-Fed IM drives using Volts/Hz and vector control techniques

This paper presents a development of a voltage source inverter (VSI) for electrical drive applications based on Space Vector Modulation (SVM) technique and the SVM algorithm is implemented using digital signal processor (DSP). Space Vector Modulation has become a popular technique to control an induction machine by referring to a special switching sequence which is based on the upper switches of a 3 phase voltage source inverter (VSI). As a result, SVM technique provides better performance characteristic in comparison to sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) in term of higher dc bus utilization and better total harmonic distortion (THD). A simple method to produce space vector modulation using an algorithm that easy to implement to DSP are develop in this paper. The developed techniques are verified via simulation and experiment to analyze the harmonic performance.

Implementation of Space Vector Modulation for voltage source inverter

This paper presents the comprehensive reviews for mitigation of the harmonic problems in the power supply which is caused by the non-linear characteristic based loads. The presence of harmonics leads to transformer heating, electromagnetic interference and solid state device mal-functioning. Hence keeping in view of the above concern, research has been carried out to mitigate harmonics. The most popular and best modulation method used among Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique is Space Vector Modulation (SVM) method as it generates low total harmonic distortion (THD). This paper also represents the current status of mitigation of power quality problems by FACTS controllers. The authors strongly believe that the literature survey will be very much useful to the researchers for finding out the relevant references in the field of power quality problems mitigated by FACTS controllers.

A study paper based on space vector pulse width modulation technique for power quality improvement

The design of embedded control systems is rapidly change during the last decade. Guaranteeing the safety of these systems is a very challenging topic. It is possible to identify two main factors that are involved in the control of those systems: Hardware/Software (HW-SW) codesign and dynamic reconfiguration. Furthermore, the use of an embedded operating system associated with a functional module library is required for the establishment of an efficient co-design solution. This paper aims to propose an appropriate co-design methodology for closed loop DC motor control based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and low cost platform Beaglebone board supported by a Linux operating system. The dynamic reconfiguration of the control system is provided by an embedded web server implemented on Beaglebone.

Dynamically reconfigurable DC motor control system based on co-design methodology

It is important to reduce the chances of the information being detected during the transmission. This is an important issue now-a- days. Thus, there must be some solution to solve the problem, so as to pass information in a manner that the very existence of the message is unknown to third person or attacker in order to repel attention of the potential attacker. This paper defines the various techniques used for information hiding, their applications and also discusses the drawbacks of implementing those techniques independently. The motivation for this paper includes provision of protection of information during transmission without any detection of information. In the present work, it has been observed that steganography is the solution for given problem as in this technique, existence of data is not evident. Among various types of steganographic techniques, image steganography is best solution. In the past few years a large number of algorithms for image steganography have been developed n order to have better imperceptibility, a mathematical method 2 k correction has been used. This method corrects each pixelvalue as 2 k . This means if k-bits are embedded in a pixel value the method adds or subtracts 2 k to each pixel-value and finally the corrected pixel value becomes closer to the original-pixel. Advanced steganographic technique for both colored and gray-scale images

This paper presents implementation of Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique for three phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Variable voltage and frequency supply to ac drives is invariably obtained from a three phase voltage source inverter. A number of Pulse Width Modulation scheme is used to obtain variable voltage and frequency supply. The most widely used PWM schemes for three phase VSI are carrier-based sinusoidal PWM and space vector PWM. There is an increasing trend of using space vector PWM because of their easier digital realization and better dc bus utilization. Both simulation and experimental results are presented.
