A Bibliography of IEEE Transactions on Computers (1980{1989)

This paper describes an interactive microprogram development system, mainly concentrating on a software simulator. The system is constructed using the object-oriented programming language VEGA, and has some advanced features; (1) showing a simulation process on a graphic display (visual simulation), (2) coupling of the simulator and a microprogram editor, (3) multidirectional presentation of debugging information, (4) restarting the simulation from any time (back function). This paper shows machine-independent and flexible implementation for the above features. The system has been used for developing the horizontal microprogram of the super-mini computer MELCOM MX/3000 with a vector processor.

An Object-Oriented Visual Simulator for Microprogram Development

The development environment for microprogramming an implementation (E-Machine) of the Burroughs stack architecture (E-Mode) is discussed with an overview of a supporting hardware organization (the Alpha machine). The set of information-sharing tools in the E-Machine workbench, especially the structured language Ohne, is described and a sample E-Mode operator is used to illustrate several of these tools.

A modular integrated probabilistic model of software reliability estimation and an algorithm of its application for estimation of software reliability with different architecture such as multilevel, multiversion, distributed and object-oriented ones are presented in the article. The modification of this model is given there for the object-oriented multiversion software with the distributed architecture. The procedure of its estimation is perfected to improve the quality of the reliability prediction. The description of the developed program system based on the modular integrated probabilistic model of reliability estimation of the object-oriented multiversion software with the distributed architecture is presented in the article. The analysis of relation of software reliability parameters to the component count, conditional and unconditional probability of the failure appearance in components and temporary components characteristics is done there as well.
