Life-long learning and whole person development are becoming more critical than just academic performance, particularly in career development perspective Employers are looking for soft skills more than hard skills from employees It is one of the responsibilities of universities to develop students’ work readiness A smart university, as part of a smart city, is no longer limited to provide technologies inside and outside classrooms In this chapter, we discuss how a smart university may facilitate self-regulated learning of learners through the introduction of personal development e-Portfolio, which assists learners in planning their development path and reflecting upon their own learning An implementation example in the City University of Hong Kong is reviewed Also, the way of extending it to lifelong and professional development is discussed

Organizational citizenship behavior OCB and perceived organizational support POS have been explored extensively in the literature. highlights the need for more Information Systems IS research in this area. In this study the authors explore how technological advancements have improved the online tax filing process in the United States. In particular, we administered a survey to 102 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program VITA Site Coordinators to explore the role of OCB and POS on user perceptions of e-filing system success. The results and implications for research and practice are discussed.

When comparing success rates of information systems in the public and private sector, governments generally lag behind. Information system failure received limited coverage in public administration: not much research examines whether private sector IS success or acceptance models can be applied in a public sector context. PA Meets IS Research: Analysing Failure of Intergovernmental Information Systems via IS Adoption and Success Models

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationships between constructs ofinformation system (IS) success in the public sector, as perceived by webmaster intermediaries, andinvestigate how user testing affects these relationships.Design/methodology/approach – Online surveys were conducted, using questionnaires, withwebmasters in Denmark and Norway who participated in the public sector web award contestsorganized by the government (n ¼ 1,237, n ¼ 541; response rate 44 per cent).Findings – It was found that the frequency with which webmasters carry out user testing affectstheir perceptions of IS success, with those who conduct no user testing displaying the weakestassociations among success variables. Findings also suggest that webmasters who do little or no usertesting conveniently assume that citizen users are satisﬁed, while webmasters who are moreknowledgeable of the user experience have a greater perception of levels of success.Practical implications – The fact that the majority of webmasters do not perform any type of usertesting triggers a reﬂection on the need for such important intermediaries to enhance their feedbackchannels.
