Impact of Trendelenburg (head down) and reverse Trendelenburg (head up) position on respiratory and cardiovascular function in anaesthetized horses.
TL;DR: Gas exchange is better preserved in HU compared to HD, especially if applied from the start of the anaesthesia, as well as for cardiac output, oxygen delivery, oxygen consumption and dobutamine requirement between the two positions.

Volumetric capnography to diagnose venous air embolism in an anaesthetised horse
Muriel Sacks,Martina Mosing +1 more
TL;DR: This case report describes the effects of an iatrogenic venous air embolism on volumetric capnography in a 23-year-old, 390 kg, Arabian purebred gelding, who recovered satisfactorily after a total anaesthesia time of 158 minutes.

Electrical impedance tomography to measure lung ventilation distribution in healthy horses and horses with left-sided cardiac volume overload.
Muriel Sacks,David P. Byrne,Nicolas Herteman,C.J. Secombe,Andy Adler,Giselle Hosgood,Anthea L. Raisis,Martina Mosing +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, left-sided cardiac volume overload (LCVO) can cause fluid accumulation in lung tissue changing the distribution of ventilation, which can be evaluated by electrical impedance tomography (EIT).

Evaluation of tidal volume measurements of the anaesthesia device Tafonius® in vitro and in vivo.
TL;DR: In vivo analyses of accuracy of tidal volume measurement should be repeated at the bedside, using data displayed on the screen of the device instead of automatically stored data, probably a result of outliers.
