High-efficient synergy of piezocatalysis and photocatalysis in bismuth oxychloride nanomaterial for dye decomposition.
Muhammad Ismail,Zheng Wu,Zheng Wu,Luohong Zhang,Jiangping Ma,Yanmin Jia,Yongming Hu,Yaojin Wang +7 more
TL;DR: It is found that the hydrothermally-synthesized bismuth oxychloride can behave both the piezocatalysis and photocatalysis for the Rhodamine B dye decomposition.

Strong piezo-electrochemical effect of multiferroic BiFeO3 square micro-sheets for mechanocatalysis
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel mechanocatalysis originating from the piezo-electrochemical effect is designed to decompose dye wastewater under vibration condition on the basis of the following mechanism: when subjected to mechanical vibration, the BiFeO 3 micro-sheets' surfaces will generate a large number of positive and negative electrical charges due to the piezoelectric effect of multiferroic materials, which further induces the chemical redox decomposition reaction in dye wastewater.

Pyroelectrically Induced Pyro-Electro-Chemical Catalytic Activity of BaTiO3 Nanofibers under Room-Temperature Cold–Hot Cycle Excitations
Yuntao Xia,Yanmin Jia,Weiqi Qian,Xiaoli Xu,Zheng Wu,Zichen Han,Yuanting Hong,Huilin You,Muhammad Ismail,Ge Bai,Liwei Wang +10 more
- 01 Apr 2017
TL;DR: A pyro-electro-chemical catalytic dye decomposition using lead-free BaTiO3 nanofibers was realized under room-temperature cold-hot cycle excitation (30-47 °C) with a high Rhodamine B (RhB) decomposition efficiency ~99%, which should be ascribed to the product of pyroelectric effect and electrochemical redox reaction as discussed by the authors.
