Price Regulation and Quality of Service
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examine a model in which unregulated competition leads to an underprovision of quality from a social perspective and then study the effects of price regulation and show that no price floor exists which will achieve the socially optimal quality choice and the only price floors that result in symmetric firm behaviour are those which involving an overinvestment in quality.

TL;DR: In this article, the optimal production of a consumer durable with the aid of a capital stock subject to deterioration is examined, where the durable was owned by the producer and its services rented; this is equivalent to assuming sale with perfect foresight and used good markets.
